Locking mechanism faulty
We bought this chair from my grandmother who recently lost her mobility, so that she could be wheeled in and out of her shower safely, and use it as a shower chair. However, I was recently informed by my grandparents that the locking mechanism on the chair will periodically give out. Most recently, she was leaning forward in the chair to wash her feel, the lock failed, and she was dumped in the floor and had to yell for help. Fortunately nothing was broken, but she was bruised, and it was scary for everyone. Would not purchase again. Just wish they had informed me earlier, as we are now out of the return window.

The chair is very sturdy and moves very easily
I got this for my 89 year old mother, we have a wheel chair friendly shower, I just roll her in and she can shower, take her time and have a little privacy. The chair is very sturdy and moves very easily, we do not use the foot rail as my mother is 5 feet, or the commode as she is continent. Just a caution this chair does not have a seat belt, we do not have a need for one as she weighs 228 lbs and the chair holds her securely, the wheel brakes work great, we usually just lock the back two. This chair has made a great impact in my mother's attitude as she has now has a bit more independence and she feels much safer than when she was using the standard shower chair. This chair is a miracle for us!
