Dodge Ram 1500-5500 Trailer Tow Mirror Reinforcement Bracket Mopar OEM

Found out that I didn’t need these; now I’m fixin to return them

If these are a replacement, no need to read on as this is a SPOT ON replacement. If these are an add-on GET RIVNUTS as they will secure the mirror much better than just the bracket

Had to order a set of these when I got my tow mirrors, as my truck did not come with any. Work perfectly and hold the mirrors tight! Zero wobble, even on the bumpiest off-road.-1 star for not coming with rivnuts/bolts to install. Takes 3 each, in addition to the 2 used from the mirror. I ordered a rivnut set, 1/4-20 fit perfectly, 1.5" bolts with washer and lock washer.

I went ahead and bought these since they were on the "suggested together" list. I didn't think much, figured they might be nice.After I ordered them, I realized I needed to install the blind rivet nuts so they could be installed! A simple, inexpensive add-on item now is going to require a bit more investment! Boy, I love buying tools (my wife will gladly attest to that) but I didn't realize how useful that thing would be! I have already found multiple projects for it!Sorry, I got distracted, but don't hesitate to get the tool and inserts to do this job right! I saw a Youtube video of a guy that used plastic anchors, I would definitely suggest doing it tight with real steel bolts that won't work loose over time.Once installed correctly, these brackets allow those huge mirrors to be rock solid and they don't shake at all, even on bumpy roads or uneven pavement. These are things you will never see again, but make the job so much better in the end!

This requires rivet nuts and the rivet gun to install the nuts in the door and bolts. Someone in their genius decided that not providing the supporting hardware was a good idea. The part number is 6507161AA uxcell 20 Pcs M8 Car Bronze Tone Carbon Steel Thread Half Hexagonal Rivet Nut (will confirm once the parts comes in) and will require 6, along with the tool to install. Also, will require the bolts, M8x1.25 (will confirm once I can get the nuts in as well). This is unsatisfactory in my opinion! Beyond that the brackets look well made.

Great product. Exactly what is described. Would be a better product if the bolts and rivnuts were included or even offered as an add on.

Can tell they aren’t oem. Thinner and rough compared to a smooth and dry paint of an oem. It does the job and stabilizes the mirrors. The paint wasn’t dry when packaged and were glued a bit together. No problem hidden under door panel.

These brackets worked great, I'd recommend them for the Dodge tow mirrors as they seem to add lots of support/door reinforcement. I used these when I swapped OEM flip out tow mirrors on my 2012 Ram 1500 express, (mirrors are plug N play btw). I opted not to wait to do the fancy thread serts and just predrilled these for tek screws, they should work fine but if not I'll add the inserts later if I need to.I wish these were cheaper and came with the blind hole thread insert they should have otherwise I'd give 5 stars.
