SmittybiltXRC WINCH REMOTE CONTROL - SB97281-50

Just received. Plugged it in and it works seamlessly. Thankful for a replacement that doesn’t have an asinine price attached to it.

This did not fit on my XRC 9500 WINCH. The plug in was different. I did end up having to return this and get a different one.However it seems to be good quality and does not feel cheap. Wish it would have fit!

Good quality controller with a bayonet style connection plug. I needed a replacement for my old Mile Marker E-12000 controller that had become damaged with age. The controller still functioned but the silicone top had dried out and cracked so the water and mud could get into the push buttons. First I contacted Mile Marker and they were no help as they used the bayonet style plug connector for only a couple years. So I went looking at other brands and it appears Westin, Smittybilt and T-max all make a controller with a bayonet plug. The Westin and some model Smittybilts actually had handles like my Mile Marker but I didn’t like the red rocker switch. This XCR controller though has a nice rubberized toggle switch that I like. It happens to be wired the same as my Mile Marker controller so it functions as it’s labeled. I notice that the seller photo shows the red rocker switch but what you get is the black rubberized toggle. I own the Smittybilt XCR front and rear bumper, winch plate, roller fairlead, rocker guards, header bar and bikini top; all are quality items and I expect this controller will be as well.

Fast shipping, product works fine. Only reason for 4 stars is that some of the white letters were worn off the controller.

My winch had the other style pin connector, and the pins inside it began to push in, making it impossible to push the control in and get it to work. So I found this one, thinking it was a newer style, and had to do some searching to find a plug replacement to match after being told by Smittybilt that the two styles were incompatible and you'd never get it to work. 10 minutes with a solder gun and the new plug outlet and I had it working just fine. They clearly had no idea what they were talking about. Winch controls aren't that complicated. IMO this type of plug is much more durable than the pin type, and feels like it makes a more solid connection and won't break every time I try to plug it in. BTW, I send the wiring diagram of how I made it work to the Smittybilt support ticket I had going, I never got a response. Thought they might appreciate knowing that in fact it actually will work.

The product was correct 5 stars for part . Kudos for that. But when I didn't need it any more because I had found my lost control the day before I got it in mail.They wanted me to pay 33 dollars to ship it back and I only paid 25 for it.I think that is robbery..So much for the free shipping on Amazon...Won't be buying any products from this company again.

Worked as it should, no complaints just like original.
