So far it works great. I am not sure what clutch was installed ...
Update: 10-May-2018After a little bit more than a year, the clutch is still working great. No issues so far. So at this time I would definitely recommend this kit.Installed the clutch over the last weekend. So far it works great. I am not sure what clutch was installed by previous owner, but this is a big difference over that one. Pedal is much softer, and engagement is very smooth. The installation went smooth, with no issues. On the box it was specified that the clutch disc, pressure plate and trust bearing are made in Mexico. The shaft bearing is made in Korea, and it looks and feel like a quality product. The repair sleeve fit nicely over. The whole kit looks like a product well made. Time will tell, and if something will go wrong later, I shall definitely come back and tell. But first impression: it is a good product.

2002 Subaru Outback wagon manual transmission clutch.
I just put this clutch in my wife's subie with tranny being pulled out the clutch went on smooth it came with the sleeve. Everything in the pictures is what the clutch came with and for now the clutch is working great the wife loves it so will see if i have to come back with a bad review later on which I'm sure i wont but ya never know.

Not happy with this clutch kit
Put this clutch/bearing in alittle less than 6 months ago, greased all the essential areas. Already started chirping again. Not happy with this clutch kit

Perfect fit and feel
Installed on a Subaru, and it’s better than the original. Only thing is there’s a bit more of a smell than the original. Even after a few thousand miles

Butter smooth (but short lived)
I installed this kit on my 2009 Subaru Outback 2.5 non turbo. 70k miles ago I installed a new Exedy kit, and it was hard to operate, to the point that I hated stop and go traffic. The push bearing and pilot bearing went bad after 70k miles on the Exedy kit (disk and plate were good though), so I tried with this one. After I was done putting everything together (including new timing kit, engine seals all around and new spark plugs and wires), I thought the clutch was broken, because I pressed the pedal and it went all the way down without much effort. Love the feeling of this kit!I read other reviews complaining about a smelly and chattery clutch. Just be patient if you experience that on the first drive, or even the first few days. That's normal, and part of the clutch brake-in period. My clutch has almost no smell after only 40 miles, and the chatter is reduced by 80% already. Just take it easy for the first few days, and use your car normally. Don't do anything stupid with your new clutch for the first couple hundred miles of city drive (highway drive doesn't count for the break-in period because you're just not using your clutch enough. Needs to be regular traffic with lots of stop and go) and you should be good to go. I was surprised that they did not include any grease for the clutch sleeve (to lubricate where the push bearing slides on the sleeve), just a little pouch for the transmission splines. I contacted Schaeffler's technical department and they replied that their push bearing uses a self lubricant high temperature composite that does not require lubrication and should be installed dry. Just lubricate the fork pivot, the 2 fork "arms" where they push against the bearing and the clutch servo contact area, and you'll be good. One last tip....use some red Loctite or Permatex on the 2 little set screws for the steel sleeve for some extra insurance that they'll not go anywhere.Looking forward to many miles of happy motoring!...Update 2/5/2023: Just came back from a trip to the NC mountains. Drove 1200 miles since this clutch was installed...uphill, downhill, on ice, snow and gravel. Clutch worked great. All funny smells or chatter were completely gone after the first 200 miles. The only thing I did notice is a "chatter" noise from the throwout bearing when I released the pedal. Did it the first start after installing this kit, and then only twice, always first start in the morning on freezing temps. Noise went away just by pressing the pedal all the way and releasing it. I'll keep and eye on this.Update 1/27/2024: All the nice things about this kit went away in a little over a year. Clutch performed fine for the first few months. Then it started shuddering when in first gear from complete stop, and the push bearing felt raspy and noisy under certain weather temperatures (fine when cold or hot, acting up when weather was between 60 and low 70s), 2 days ago, I reluctantly pulled the engine again (not fun when I already did it 13 months ago) and installed another Exedy KSB04 clutch kit and NTN throwout bearing (the Exedy ones don't have good reviews and are notorious to fail earlier than expected). Upon disassembly, the Luk push bearing that came with this kit felt noisy and dry when spinning it by hand. Now my clutch is harder, yes, but no shuddering or noise. Not happy with the performance of this kit.BTW...I drive a regular Outback with the NA engine, and I'm VERY conservative when driving...

Three Stars
Cheap no-name pilot bushing seized within months of installation. I had to remove the transmission and get another...

Fit perfectly in my '07 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. Lighter pedal feel than the OEM clutch.

2002 Outback 2.5L MT - DIY replacement
I'm a skilled person, but don't do auto repairs. Financially i was forced to do this replacement myself. Brother has done a couplex so i hobbled up to his place and we installed this replacement in a single [long] day. This kit worked out fine, but the alignment tool is not as helpful as I would have liked. It's plastic so it can flex. This means that when the engine and Transmission come together the clutch disc may not actually be aligned with the bearing in the Flywheel - and you'll have to back everything out, adjust, and try again.I would recommend using the alignment tool to get a ballpark idea, but measure the position of the clutch relative to the flywheel to make certain it's as centered as you can before torquing down he clutch cover bolts.

Better then oem
Works great iv drove about 800- 900 miles with mine now and it was chattering and smelling a abit for the first 500-600 kms (the chattering went away after like 100-200 kms witch was alot shorter then most clutches do so I'm wondering if its gonna give out sooner.. I will update if I have any problems

Throwout bearing failed right away !
After carefully replacing all the components, the throwout bearing failed almost immediately. It appears to be made of some composite material. Now the transmission has to be removed just to replace the bearing.. Make sure you purchase a kit with a "real" bearing made of steel.
