How does the firewall affects the performance of that router?

I don't have a direct answer, but I have no problem with Gigabit speeds through the firewall. Very pleased with mine.

Does it support ddns?

Via scripting you can choose a DNS service. There is the also built-in IP Cloud based on the serial number.
