one of the best movies ever
The movie is a must-watch. Way better than the american copy of it, which moves all this to NYC, makes the main actor a woman and has trouble adapting french humor to work for Americans. Pay double for this, get 4x as much fun.English translation sucks though. It is nearly impossible to understand what they are saying, and having subtitles on confuses even more - they don't match the words. I recommend to set sound on French, and watch with English subtitles, this way you get ALL original sounds and the tones of their voice. It looks like they used a $5 microphone to record English, and you cannot hear any original sounds while they are talking.Don't worry too much about having to read subtitles. After 15 minutes you will not even notice that the language is different from yours, and the fear of watching foreign movies (a lot of them are good btw, but Americans never watch them) will go away. And maybe, if the popularity of foreign movies grows a little someone will actually start making quality translations of them, with professional sound actors, matching subtitles, and availability of the movies in stores.

The beginning of the Cotillard era
While I love stunt work in movies as much as anyone (how about Angelina on the jetski at the beginning of LARA CROFT 2?), these hugely popular French comedies would not have been my meat were it not for the introduction to the international cinema market of Marion Cotillard and her first experience with international popularity. She's hilarious in these two action movies, though she was little featured in TAXI 3 and refused to make TAXI 4. Those who first saw her in LA VIE EN ROSE would have trouble recognizing the playful comedienne with lusty intentions toward the driver of the souped-up taxi. But she's just great and funny here, and if you love action or have teenaged boys at home, you might be enriched by these two films.

Taxi is excellent
Love the opening scene of Taxi, but of course cause I ride just like Pizza Joe! (can't quite do his dismount though). Fun movie, actually better (less over the top) than Queen Latifah in what I now know is a remake set in NY.

Otherwise looks great plays fine
Description listed subtitles including English, there are no subtitles, somewhat misleading information as the product features did not list subs. Otherwise looks great plays fine. Disappointed no subs

Absolutely brilliant movie, totally enjoyed it, perfectly happy.
I would give this full marks because this movie totally does it for me in terms of timeless and genius action comedy. In the nineties and eighties, this kind of action complete with the funniest, comical sense to it all, is what I loved all my life and still do. Luc Besson is a genius, his works never fail to be the coolest and funniest in action and in the funniest moments in his films, particularly the Taxi movies, I always laugh. In this one, Taxi 2, Danny the taxi driver has to protect some foreign and highly important diplomatic visitors from a gang of deadly ninjas and their attempts at kidnapping who want to capture them and he has to use his driving skills combined with the hilariousness of a most incredibly funny Parisian police force in alliance with him, to outsmart and defeat them during the political visit. I absolutely love this movie as a buyer of this product and somebody who is into old school action comedy and I would recommend it to anyone at all who likes any kinds of action comedy. Its definitely worth considering.

Slightly inferior to the first movie. Better boxset.
The movie itself is 4 stars. Slightly inferior to the first, but still very entertaining. keeping many of the leading actors and with similar plot and atmosphere. The DVD set itself is much better than the first, with the French speaking version in normal screen size with very clear English subtitles. The extras include1. A much better and longer trailer than the one in the first movie.2. An excellent 8:30 minutes behind the scenes documentary (English subtitled!) with some very funny and very insightful moments, including shooting of car chase sequences, and the aftermath of having to deal with crashed cars...3. Filmography of leading actors.Overall highly recommended as is the first movie.

Taxi anyone
Good movie but felt it wasn't as good the first but since I have not seen the 3rd or 4th I don't know where this ranks in the pecking order of the franchise

If you enjoyed Taxi 1, you'll enjoy Taxi 2 - simple
This film is definitely for Taxi fans. The first film was a romp through a bunch of characters that could have you on the edge of your seat in fits of laughter. Taxi 2 brings most of these back together for one more trip through the streets of Paris.A japanese high-flier is kidnapped, along come the taxi driver, his hapless cop friend, and his troop of keystone french cops. Result - hilarious sketches.Definitely worth watching - though I'd stop here and not go on to Taxi 3.
