The Bread Collection: Recipes for Baking Artisan Bread at Home (The Bake Feed)

I got this as a Christmas gift for my sister who loves to bake bread. She is always trying to find "fancier" recipes to make, so this looked like something she would like. The photographs in the book are beautiful, and there are so many yummy-looking recipes. Would not necessarily suggest this for a first-time bread-maker, but I think it's great for someone who is ready to make more advanced breads. Some people on here have complained about it being repeats of recipes from the same writer in his other books. If you are looking for brand new recipes from the author, this may not be the book for you. But if you are looking for a compilation of bread recipes or have never read his other books before, I think you will love this. Now to wait and see how the recipes come out.... :)Update: My sister loves her new book and has been spending time looking for which recipe she wants to make next. Will be a hit with anyone you know who is wanting to up their bread-making game.

I have a set of 3 of these cookbooks and they are not only beautifully illustrated but the recipes are easy to follow and so far the things I have made have turned out well...and I am NOT a baker! I can cook well but am not always successful at baking and have been very pleasantly surprised at my ability with these recipes. These are beautiful books and also make wonderful gifts.

I almost put off buying this book because of reviews that indicated it was “hard to follow” or “confusing.” It is not. The word “artisan” appears on the cover for a reason. It is not an easy beginners bread book. It is for experienced bakers who want to attempt recipes that require a little bit more work. If you understand the basics of breadmaking, you should have no trouble following the descriptions in this book. The book itself is a beautiful volume, and the recipe selections are right up my personal baking alley. If you were considering this book and have a working knowledge of how to turn out a good loaf, don’t be frightened away by other reviews.

Plenty of recipes. All kinds. You will find much to bake.

This books versatility is amazing whether you want to learn how to learn how to start making sourdough with the starter of make a morning batch of unique muffins, it’s got it. I am a home baker that enjoys professional results and this company delivers that result. I own both volumes of their Bake from Scratch cookbooks and also subscribe to their magizine just dedicated to baking . This is just another useful resource to use.

The first recipe I tried was the sourdough bagettes. Delicious!
