Excellent product in every way. No complaints or negative feedback at all... I would buy again.

The 'diamond stones' are metal plates with embedded grit, the quality of these abrasive plates is poor and after attempting one ski I am left with smooth metal plates, the abrasive finish just rubbed off. See picture.

If our local ski shops carry any kits for tuning ski edges at all, they are usually a barebones plastic holder with one file that fits poorly, and no instructions for about $15. I bought one a couple of years ago and have always hated it. I went on forums, watched youtube vids... it became clear that nobody out there knew for sure how to use these budget tuners correctly. I used but could never be sure if I was making my skis better or worse.Not only does this kit include a variety of colour coded and stamped files with different grits, but the bracket and the instructions clearly explain how and when to use each file. Totally worth the extra $$s to get something that makes sense of it all.

Works like a dream if you can manage to fit the diamond stones in there, and a great deal for the price. Like the 1-star reviewer said the diamond stones are just a little bit too thick to easily put them in and take them out, but a little creative application of force makes it easy. What I was doing is using the stone I wanted to swap out to push out the old one as well. After 1 snowboard sharpening the little flexures on the guide had loosened enough that it was no longer difficult to get the stones in.Performance was excellent, I had only sharpened with bastard files before and didn't know what I was missing. My old rocker board was biting ice like crazy. The rubber gummy stone is great too, very easy detuning/deburring/de-rusting. Unfortunately I left the kit on the roof of my car and drove away. I'm buying another right now.
