Understanding Prophetic People: Blessings and Problems with the Prophetic Gift

I have read quite a number of books on the prophetic, many good and many downright horrible. I have to honestly say that this book is one of the best, if not the best I have read so far. It answered many questions I didn't even know I had. It clarified many things about me. Many painful but loving truths. I never craved the prophetic, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. IF you think the prophetic is where God called you or you have to put up with a prophetic person, read this book before you read any other. We need more men like R Loren Sanford to help purify the prophetic and lead the way. He is a true humble pioneer.

Book helped us so much through the dark night of the soul. If Prophet Sanford didn’t write this book we would of possibly never made it. I cannot put a price on how Prophet Sanford’s book helped us. You need this book if your called to the prophetic. Very informative and for this truly called to the office it’s not about the gifts it’s the process you have to go through with God to be formed into His vessel. Words cannot describe the dark depths God will take you through to scrape off you all the fleshy evils that hide behind our gifts or anointing or whatever shiny outside manifestation we walk in. When it was announced over us recently that it was over our 3 year dark night of the soul we cried. It was the most transforming time of our lives and the hardest thing we have ever gone through but this book will help you through it. Don’t be naive, God will put you through the fire you couldn’t even imagine but when it’s done !!!! Glory to God

I never knew I needed to know what is written in the pages of this book. For years I always wondered why I felt the way I did and asked God to deliver me thinking something was wrong. I didn’t understand my own self until the Lord led me to this book. It has really changed my life and helped to accept the calling of God on my life.

Such a good book!

Having a limited experience with the gift of prophecy and. Observing some modernprophets I was intrigued the topic. Another factor was that I thought the author was a former classmate. It was his son. Extremely open and honest, brutally so. He present a profile of prophets though called of God highly dysfunctional in many ways. Really human beings. Shares many helpful insights and suggestions for pastorOn how to manage and develop a prophetic ministry. I suspect there would be many to disagree. But this has been his life we can only learn what we are willing to. It would not be viewed as a recruitment appeal.

Loren Sanford has done it again.He has stuck his neck out with insights from the trials and refining fire of God's love.This subject in the Western Church is vastly misrepresentented with heady how-to's removing God's heart and the requirements of the call. But not this book.Loren has embraced the call full tilt.His chapter on "the profile of a prophetic person" will relieve the anxious parent, the frustrated pastor, and the confounded counselor. Loren's goal is empowerment for the prophetic person, healing for their battered soul, and peace to their anxious mind.This is the best book so far on profiling such people.Next Loren, please write about the leadership dynamics of the prophetic people within spheres of life, work, and relationships.

This book is needed in the body of Christ today as Pastor and Prophets alike need to understand what their role in the Prophetic realm really is. It helps to expose those who really do not have this gift and confirm those who do. It is real, raw, and Spirit filled. I would recommend this book to those who have difficult people only to find out they just need mentoring and an understanding of their gifts if they are teachable. This book is truely a better understanding of the prophetic and not just spiritualism or feel good theology.

Not easy to concentrate this kind of knowledge to a few words. Best way to catch on to this special gift is to get the book, slowly read and maybe start a discussion group among your friends. That's what I have done a couple of times and it is always appreciated!

Ich hab das Buch gekriegt, damit ich mich als prophetisch Begabte besser verstehe. Das Buch spricht nur von Transformation und Leiden, Leiden und nochmals Leiden.Wenn man sich Gott als Gefäss hinstellt und sich verändern lässt, z.B. im SOZO-Dienst, dann gibt es kein Leiden denn seine Wahrheiten machen frei, ohne Schmerz.Wenn man halt den Veränderungsprozess nicht aktiv angeht, dann kann es schon sein, dass man immer wieder mit Sachen konfrontiert wird, die in einem selber noch nicht verheilt sind und dann zu Spannungen und Leiden führen.Grundsätzlich gibt es auch keine Probleme mit dem Prophetischen. Es ist der religiöse Geist, der Menschen manipuliert, welcher sich dagegen stellt. Es ist ein geistlicher Kampf. Da kann ich gute Bücher über geistlichen Kampf empfehlen.Lasst Euch bitte nicht einreden, wir müssten Leiden um vorwärtszukommen. Oder Gott schickt uns Lektionen um darauszulernen. Wo bitte steht das im NT?Gott segne Euch!

Je recommande vivement ce livre. Beaucoup de livres abordent le sujet du don prophétique, mais très peu parlent de la phase "d'instabilité émotionnelle" que vivent ceux qui sans en être conscients ont ce don.

This book really blessed me. It helped me understand more about myself and the nature of the prophetic call - chapter one was brilliant and if you are prophetic you will probably humorously enjoy the description of the common traits prophetic people tend to have.Over all, the book was in depth, with much wisdom from years of experience. Wow. It is also brutally honest about the reality of the cost of the prophetic call, particularly to the office of prophet. It makes one take a deep breath when you understand ways which God will shape your character to be trusted with words of weight and also the importance of intimacy with Jesus as the source of your ministry.It is a humbling read about the reality of a prophetic lifestyle and brought me into a greater understanding of my personal call. It also addresses complex issues of prophetic ministry which you will find helpful so that you do not make the same errors.A great read, full of hard to swallow truths on this lifestyle but I am most thankful for the insight! Read it!
