Good product in a simple package less garbage to throw!!!

Very similar or identical in taste to sucrose. The granules are a little finer than table sugar. I think that the degree of sweetness is the same as sucrose. I bought this for my husband, who is a Type 1 diabetic, for hypoglycemic episodes. He has used Glutose in the past, which works well, but it is outrageously expensive, so I thought we'd try this. I also think it should work better than sucrose since it doesn't have to be broken down before it can be absorbed into the bloodstream.

When my child was diagnosed with a rare medical condition a few months ago (similar to CSID) we had to cut ALL sugar and starch. Dextrose, although not completely tolerated by her, is the ONLY sugar / substitute I have found that she can have. She's 6 so sweets are a "necessity", at least if you ask her lol. This product comes in a very nice RESEALABLE bag! Great in yogurt, perfect for homemade ice cream. It has the consistency and texture of powdered sugar without being super sweet (and an odd minor aftertaste if you try it straight .. had to taste test it lol)

If for whatever reason you need pure dextrose instead of normal table sugar (sucrose), this works well. It is very expensive, though.

Since I started using this dextrose, I don't crave sugar as much. My doctor says that it is high fructose corn syrup which is in "ordinary" sugar that causes the craving. The only sugar I now use is 1 tbsp of brown sugar on my oatmeal in the morning. Other than that I use this dextrose for everything I sweeten, even in cooking. It works and I like it fine.
