The Life (and Wife) of Allen Ludden (hardback)

I loved reading the Kindle version of the book. We are treated to author Adam Nedeff's thorough research into the world of game shows and theatre to present the life of Allen Ludden. You know his second wife, Betty White. Now you can read all about her third husband, his years as a student, as a teacher, as a theatre performer, radio host, producer, the man who made the College Bowl come to life, and, most famously, the man who hosted one of television's best games, Password. We also see his personal life, marrying his sweetheart Margaret, raising three children, enduring her illness and death, the rebound when he and Betty got together, their parallel professional lives in show business, enjoying life together, and his final times with his own illness and Betty's devotion. Excellent. I was rooting for Allen and Betty throughout. Thanks, Adam, for creating such an enjoyable life story.

I have read all three of Adam Nedeff's books about game show hosts and have enjoyed them all. This book talks about several things. The life ofand career of Allen Ludden, the life and career of Betty White, their life together and Password. I found it interesting how the author was able to put together how Allen and Betty met and worked with people who they would have lifetime friendships with. I learned many things I didn't know such as Betty White was considered for hosting game shows as far back as the 1950s and would always have to step aside for a man until the 1980s and the reason for Allen leaving College Bowl. It was a great story I recommend especially if you are interested in this kind of subject and I hope the author gives us another book in the future.

This book is so enjoyable for anyone who loves game shows and loves wonderful love stories. For those who want to know more about Betty White, her ability to overcome adversity and the man who was her best friend and biggest supporter- this book is for you.

The author has given us so much more than the Password years in this book. I always loved Allen Ludden and am so pleased to have learned so much more about his extraordinary life and career, especially in radio. Thanks for a great read!

I enjoyed this well researched book about Allen Ludden, Betty White, & one of my favorite game shows, Password. The list of the shows with the celebrity players was a great addition at the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. After chatting with the author in a Facebook group I had to order this.Glad I did!
