Loud and reliable
Setup was a bit difficult trying to connect to our network. But once’s it was connected both the sensors automatically connected. During testing they are loud! And the app also notifies you basically immediately. Not certain on reliability but hopefully never have to find out! *UPDATE MARCH 2024* Holy cow these things are life saves and help avoid a headache!! Last night we were eating dinner during a rain storm and got a notification on our phone and right after the alarm started blaring. The next night (today) I’m sleeping at 3am and am awaken by the app and the alarm going off. And they do not stop until you acknowledge it. Hearing the alarm through a thunderstorm from my closed basement, up the stairs down the hallway is very impressive. VERY happy with the product and the damage it has prevented. Also can’t wait to have this water leak fixed! *UPDATE JUNE 2025 * Had torrential rain and out of no where while at work got a notification that there was water detected in the basement. My heart sank. It’s been about a year since these last alerted me. Thank god for these things and the reliability of them. I drove home (30 minutes) and was able to address and fix the situation before it got to bad. The water was not but at all but left unattended without this device it could have been way worse.

Works but can be a bit frustrating to setup
I had left a negative review due to issues in the setup. There was a misprint in my instructions that listed the wrong wifi module. Using that information the wifi module would never connect to the router. Once I was able to get the correct model for the wifi module I was able to connect. Many modern routers are moving away from manual switching from 2.4ghz to 5ghz. This is so both bands can reside on the same SSID to allow the client to automatically switch between each band depending on signal quality. My Router does not support manual switching. In my case, I setup a guest network with 2.4ghz only for all IOT devices and allowed that network to communicate with my main network. This is actually of benefit to me as it makes these devices easier to manage. Not everyone will have that experience. I think it is honestly past time for IOT devices to support 5ghz. All that said the setup after that was easy.

Considering the cost a 4 star rating. Otherwise a 3.
Price has nearly doubled on both my preferred brands of leak sensors so upon deciding to add additional sensors I decided to try Govee because I very much like the idea of having an audible alarm in addition to text, they are affordable (I need 10!) and I’m having a 4+ star experience with the Govee temperature sensors. The water sensors seem to work so far but not all is great. - documentation for setting up is okay but could be better. Documentation for integration into smart(ish) home network is virtually non-existent. - I have no way of measuring decibels but the alarms sound isn’t very loud and unlikely to hear it from across the house or from a different level of the house. - I really like my new mesh WI-FI that automatically figures out whether to connect via 2.4 vs 5ghz. However the Govee gateway required with these sensors wouldn’t connect so I needed to dumb down my new network to split the 5 and 2.4 ghz networks to get it to connect. At some point will configure an old router to act as a 2.4ghz access point strictly for these sensors but what a pain…. - as I mentioned I have numerous sensors to configure but sitting here with 10 of them stacked in front of me (because to connect to gateway you need physical access to the gateway) and there is no convenient way to know which sensor corresponds to which device entry in the app. Sure, not particularly difficult to resolve but it could have been much better. - sitting here watching the gateway it seems to occasionally lose connection then regain. It is 10ft away from the router and microwave oven and other typical interferences not applicable. I haven’t lowered rating because of this but is something I’ll keep an eye on before trusting these. I’m starting with 4 star but wouldn’t take much to drop it to 3.

Peace of mind
Water Sensors Review I recently purchased these water sensors that have proven to be an invaluable addition to my client’s business. These sensors are designed to alert you via push notification if a leak is detected, as well as set off a local alarm to alert anyone present of a leak. This dual alert system ensures that any potential water damage is addressed immediately, minimizing the risk of costly repairs and equipment damage. Real-World Application During a recent water leak event, the data room housing a lot of expensive equipment experienced a leak due to a conduit being flooded by landscape irrigation outside the building. To ensure my client was aware of any future flooding at the onset, as opposed to two days later, we installed these sensors as a solution for instantaneous alerts. This proactive approach has proven to be incredibly effective. Critical for Business Use For a business, knowing if there is a leak after hours is incredibly important to protect valuable equipment in their server room, including telephone equipment, surveillance equipment, networking equipment, and more. These sensors have proven immensely valuable, as they alerted the owner to the presence of a leak only three days after installation. They were able to promptly address the issue while being located 40 miles away from the office. Reliability and Efficiency These water sensors are reliable, energy-efficient, and robust. Their small form factor makes them non-intrusive, allowing them to be placed discreetly in critical areas without taking up much space. The peace of mind they provide is immense, knowing that any potential water damage will be detected and addressed immediately. Conclusion Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. These water sensors have proven to be a reliable and effective solution for detecting leaks and preventing water damage. Their ability to provide instantaneous alerts, both locally and remotely, makes them an essential tool for any home or business looking to protect their valuable equipment or property. I highly recommend these sensors to anyone in need of a dependable and efficient water leak detection system.

Battery indicatior incorrect, no indication of disconnect.
Seems to work well when everything is connected, but it's kind of pointless because there is no indicator when the sensor has been disconnected or if the battery is low. As a test I simply removed the batteries and in the app it still shows connected and full battery. I also put in some low batteries, it still shows full battery. A notification for when a sensor disconnects and also for low battery would be bare minimum to really be reliable. The app should also show the correct status of the sensor. Maybe this is an easy fix in firmware or the app, either way I will give a little time but if it isn't fixed within return window I will likely have to switch to a different make that has some of these basic features. Edit: Support was no help and didn't offer any solutions, they said if the it loses connection it will show disconnected in the app.. I have found this to be FALSE. I've had these in place for about two weeks now. I decided to test one and while the alarm went off I got NO notifications. Went into the app and it shows connected and full battery but no alarms. Had to unplug the hub and plug it back in to restart it, then I tested the alarm again and it showed a notification. If the hub somehow disconnects or if a sensor disconnects there is NO indication in the app of an issue. This makes the product extremely unreliable unless you someone is close by to hear the alarm.
