A HIDDEN GEM
I’m a big fan of isometrics.. and have studied the history.Read many books over the past year. Watched many Videos and studied many types.. overcoming isometrics..yielding isometrics etc..which all have its place..Having and accident last year with my shoulder rotator cuff and waiting for an operation. I began to revisit isometrics. Well I must say this book is a hidden Gem .. It explains everything you need to know and is the Swiss Army knife of isometrics.Having been waiting a year for my operation and through lockdown I have managed to maintain muscle and keep fit with isometrics as my main exercise. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to train safely doesn’t want a gym membership, build muscle and strength especially good for over 40’s up to senior years or recovery from injury It’s never to lateBuy this book . I shall be purchasing more from these authors in the future

Isometrics - The Bible (Says it all)
I have bought this book to complete my set of all of Brian & Helen’s books. I am a proponent of isometrics and now have a sound business relationship with Brian as we seek to get isometrics “out there”. A superb book with a no nonsense approach which I like. Another winner - well done Brian. Ian

yet another brilliant book! Absolutely recommend!!!
Love all these books. Brian and Helen are so knowledgeable. Got a few of their books now. I would absolutely recommend these books. I have never had a gym membership as they tend to be so expensive. Ok, you need to have some self discipline to exercise at home and I do. So if you are disciplined and can work well at home try one of these books! they truly are brilliantly written and so helpful. 5 stars!

Concise and clear
This is probably the most complete book on Isometrics I have read. I have proved to myself over the years just how effective Isometric exercise is. Now, at almost 60 years of age, I am fitter and more muscular than ever after implementing this form of exercise almost exclusively. This book gives a complete history of Isometrics starting from Ancient Greece through to early modern exponents of isometrics such as Eugene Sandow and Alexander Zass and, of course, probably one of the most famous bodybuilders, Charles Atlas, and his 'Dynamic Tension' system. The book goes over the science such as how muscle grows, how the various Isometric techniques work and debunks some of the myths about Isometrics. The second half of the book features clearly described and illustrated exercises using no extra equipment (self resistance) and also some of the equipment designed specifically for Isometric use such as the Bullworker, Iso-Bow and even items that everyone will have and can start exercising immediately with such as a towel! It's quite a thick book and seems to cover everything related to Isometrics and describes exactly why this form of exercise is so efficient and something that anyone can do to greatly improve their health and strength with very little time outlay.

Needs an index
I didn’t like the book at first due to the lack of an index. However, today I started reading most of it and realized it has a wealth of history about isometrics. I have changed my rating to five stars.

Great book to read and start static exercises.
This is definitely a book to read. Well written and informative piece. I enjoyed spending the time with it. Regarding static exercises, I do those for several months only but feel the results. I came across IsoWalking handles some time ago and decided to give them a try besides my usual routine with weights. I was quite amazed with results. My muscles shaped up much better and I feel stronger. For example I did 20 pull-ups a set maximum but do 25 right now without problem. Same happened with dumbbells, I set at least 15 LB more at each right now. Reading the book gave me new ideas and inspired me to continue with static exercises. I want to share with you some pictures. This is me doing static positions with IsoWalking grips. Now I'm not only doing static load but have some theory behind that. Nice to know the background.

Good info but poor diagrams
Not enough diagrams to have quick reference on how to do different isometrics. Also quality of photos not the best

some good but a lot of fluff
"When I was training with 4 time world strongest man Jon Paul Sigmarrson..." was repeated so many times it was ridiculous. Some concepts were good and may add something to my tool kit, but there was a lot of fluff, and repeating of concepts and practices. I have to admit that I love isometrics, and use it as part of my powerlifting training, but I would say that this 372 page book could easily have been 20 - 30 pages. No real justification of 7 seconds (other authorities range for power from 5 - 10 seconds) No recommendation to number of sets.... no comment on limit of time for workouts...for a beginner in isos the pictures of the exercises would be helpful, but again, directions repeated...reiterated ad nauseum. With a title like THE isometric bible, I expected so much more.

Amazing Book!
This was a phenomenal book. It was well written and enjoyable to read. The history of isometrics and the scientific research was fascinating. The step by step instructions and pictures made it easy to perform the exercises. I just purchased The 70 Second Difference and I can’t wait to incorporate isometrics into my exercise program.
