Lyric Fruit and Nut Wild Bird Seed - High Energy Wild Bird Food Mix - Attracts Woodpeckers, Chickadees & Other Songbirds - 20 lb bag

I've been an avid bird watcher for decades and have landscaped my backyard specifically to attract birds and to provide shelter, nesting, wholesome food, and protection for birds. I use only high-quality, healthy seed and usually buy all my seed at Wild Birds Unlimited, but the store near my home closed, so I ordered seed online. I filled one of my bird feeders with this product and for the first time EVER, I saw blue birds and blue jays at the feeder! Through the years, I have seen gorgeous red-headed wood peckers visit my feeders occasionally, but now I see them regularly at the feeder filled with this product. I was a little concerned that the large nuts in this product would block and clog the feeder ports on my expensive Squirrel Buster feeder, but that did not happen. If you want to see birds who rarely visit bird feeders, like jays, blue birds, and wood peckers, this product will attract them! Also, there is no residual rotting mess around the feeders with this product, which is important to me because the mess creates an unhealthy environment for all wildlife, not to mention an ugly landscape. What seeds the birds scatter and discard, the ground-feeding birds and squirrels scarf up immediately. Not the case with cheap seed that contains fillers that no critters will / can eat or with black-oil sunflower seed whose shells rot into the ground and make a huge, toxic mess. Excellent product, well worth the money!

I like all the nuts and fruit and most of all the fact that there’s no shells left to clean up. The birds seem to like it too.

LOVE this birdseed - a very high quality product with no filler. The nuts and fruit come in nicely sized pieces, and the birds go crazy for it. There is never any left over, the birds love everything in this bag. Truly nothing bad to say about this birdseed!

This appears to be a good quality food especially for the price. There are a lot of nuts which I was looking for because the Wood Peckers, Cardinals and Blue Jays flock to that. I just wish the nuts were in smaller pieces. I was buying the Kaytee Nut and Fruit which is a similar food. I was going thru one or two 10lb bags of that per week. The birds were FLOCKING to it. I had 6 Jays at one time fighting over the feeder. Since the nuts were in smaller pieces they would stay on the feeder and eat instead of grabbing a big nut and flying off to eat. Since the feeder is hanging in front of a window, the cats and I had really good views of the birds. But Kaytee is pretty expensive especially going thru that much every week, I tried the Lyric. I like that it has a lot of nuts, but they are in much bigger pieces, or whole nuts. The birds are having a lot harder time getting the nuts out of the feeder, since it is a Woodpecker feeder with a wide mesh to hold the nuts. I'm not see nearly as many birds as the feeder as I was. I tried smashing them with a wooden roller to break the nuts into pieces, but that wore me out pretty fast. I tried putting it in the food processor and chopping it a bit, but that pulverized some of it too much. I don't think such small pieces are going to stay in the feeder.

Me and the wife love the birds here in Western PA! All the breeds including woodpeckers have shown up to feed!

Only Suitable for Squirrels and Raccoons. :( Too Large for even Woodpeckers!Whole Almonds, Seriously?? MANY 4-5" Heavy Logs Included.When I emptied the feeder less than a day later (nuts wouldnt fit through), all nuts and seeds covered with white mold. I must have assumed food was the same as usual when I filled the feeder, and just poured it in without inspecting. I am trying to HELP the birds through winter, not KILL them!Severe Quality Control Issues.Would not recommend, nor purchase again.*** UPDATE*** I dumped the entire bag out in my woods 2 weeks ago. Nothing has touched it. Not any animal or bird will eat it! Not a squirrel, raccoon, deer, bear, bird. Nothing. Should be recalled.

This birdfood has little or no waste.
