I purchased the unflavored version thinking it would be comparable to the Maurten 100 Caf since the ingredients are similar. I brought two packets with me this morning on my long run. Eventually gel time rolled around, as it always must. I experienced considerable difficulty tearing the packet open, to the point that I had to stop running 👎. But when I finally achieved success, I was rewarded with a hot blast of the foulest, most vile substance you can imagine. It was like liquid diarrhea straight from the ass of Satan himself, in the lake of fire where the worm does not die. The sun grew dim; the stars and galaxies above wheeled through the whistling terror of the void as I gagged and choked, clutching the barely opened gel packet and cursing my life as I yearned for the sweet release of death, which to my regret was denied me. I contemplated drowning myself in a nearby body of water. But I did finish that first packet, assisted by many gulps from my water bottle. I discarded the second as quickly as possible before resuming my now under-fueled run. Gentle reader, do not make the same mistake I did: try new gels BEFORE practicing your endurance sport of choice. Better yet, just stick with Maurten.
