WISH IT WAS LARGER
I just love this Baby Groot Flowerpot, and it's a great decoration on my BBQ bar, however, I wish I could find one much larger. It should be at least a foot high to properly hold a larger plant. Nevertheless, it's very cute.

Garish paint job, not like item pictured
I hoped to use this on my desk and chose this Groot from the several listed on Amazon because I liked the pose and the subtle coloring. I checked the customer photos before purchase and they looked like the item listing, but the Groot I received has an acid green top that makes him look like an old school punk rocker. There is also a random splotch of the same green on his chest. Cheap and tacky looking.

Love all things GROOT
It will only hold a small plant. It has a drainage hole, but I opted to plant a succulent, and my 'liner' is a water bottle, cut to slightly higher than the 'pot', placed inverted (lid side down) with lid intake, and it fits very well into the semi-conical interior. I filled the cut/inverted water bottle with soil and my succulent. Very happy!

Love it!
Super cute groot plant pot! However, I just wish there wasn’t a hole at the bottom. Didn’t anticipate having to put something under it for leakage. Other than that it came a day early than expected and it’s the perfect size.

Adorable!
This planter is so cute. We did put a saucer underneath to catch any water. It’s just for my kid’s room so I went with the 49 cent plastic saucer. It looked much cuter with a nice green one! My only markdown is that the opening is very small so it wasn’t that easy to put a plant in. Once in, it also doesn’t seem like it’s planted well but I can’t get my fingers in to fix. Maybe if I used a different type of plant it would be easier. All in all, a good purchase.

Yes, it is officially Baby Groot.
I did buy this Baby Groot. Not sure if he is official, but he looks great. The only reason I can see to sell him as a planter is he's a character that is a growing thing. I'm sure we all saw the first GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY film. Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), a giant who is a living plant or tree, saves the other Guardians by covering them in a canopy of himself. But he is destroyed. The ending shows his friend Rocket (a character in the body of a raccoon), who secretly brings Groot back by potting him. In the second film, Groot is a baby full of mischief, who still can do amazing things, and seems to know what needs to be done. The only thing that I can see that makes this a planter (or a pencil holder) is that there is a hole that goes from the head of Groot, down to the bottom, allowing for drainage. I would think this configuration could easily tip over if a too large plant were in it. For me, Baby Groot sits smiling at folks when they gather around the water cooler. "I am Groot!"

Super Cute! But Impractical and (kindof) Weird
If you put a plant directly in pot, the pot DOES have a hole for water to drain out—but no way of catching the water (and the irregular footprint won't fit in a regular-sized protective saucer). You can plug the hole and put a smaller pot (that drains) inside of it, but the smaller pot needs to be no bigger than 2.25 inch diameter. Too shallow / short to work well as pen cup, but would be fine to hold something like Q-tips. You can simply leave it empty, but then it would look better as a figurine rather than with the big hole in the head.

Adorable & Probably functional!
I'm currently using this for an air plant because I couldn't decide on what plant to actually put in this planter. It's pretty "plastic-y" but it does have 1 drainage hole at the bottom of the planter. I don't know if I would put something that has roots that are really sensitive to being moist unless I had a VERY well draining mixture in this planter. Because of the nature of the plastic, it would not be able to wick away any moisture like a material like terracotta. It's really freaking cute and I've seen people using it all over plant social media, so I would be confident in using this :)
