The Ecogear Keychain Flashlights, when charged, throws a good bit of light, enough to see your way down a dark hallway without tripping and falling, or to find your way in a dark parking lot. It is very convenient to have one of these little lights on my keychain, and the battery is good to go as long as you put the solar array in a good place to charge occasionally. I have had mine not work once or twice due to no charge. I gave one of these to everyone in my immediate family. One would not work at all, despite repeated attempts to charge it, and is now in pieces so I could see how it works. The other 5 do work. The materials and construction seem durable, and the chain section includes a swivel, which is a nice touch, and eases the use as the device does not get twisted up. I nicked it one star because one did not work, and the others seem to take a long time to charge, or maybe the battery does not last very long. For around a buck and a half per piece, seems like a great buy.

Normally anything i get with batteries default DOA. Five of the six were FULLY charged and work perfectly. The sixth one needed 2 days charging (rainy, dark clouds); works fine. I tore apart that 6th one, and found the batteries inside are as big and beefy as possible for the package size. That indicates a well-thought design and a prospect for a long and useful life.

They were nice but battery did not last long.

When these work they are really nice as you don't have to worry about replacing batteries when discharged. However, only 2 of the 6 items ordered actually worked. I opened the case on defective ones and found extremely poor solder joints when the manufacturer installed the batteries. I tried to repair a couple but there is too much corrosion on the solder pads and wires to make a suitable solder joint.

Bought these for my kids and 1 out of 6 worked. I even Left them in Direct sunlight for a day before I used them. Seem to have a cheap build so most likely they busted in transit or even worse they didn’t work to begin with.The one that did work was okbut I have three kids. They have a cool light, blue tint.
