AurifilQuilting Thread 50wt Beige

This is wonderful quilting thread. It is fine but strong. No lint.

Aurifil thread helps me to achieve a perfect quarter inch seam. I use it for quilting.

This brand was recommended to me by a prolific quilter whose work has won recognition throughout professional quilting circles. I had asked her which thread she liked best and she responded, emphatically, that she used a light grey Aurifil 50 wt thread for everything except black fabric. I have used Aurifil for all of my piecing since that time and have always found it to be glitch-free, lint-free and so fine and smooth that my 1/4 inch seams measure true every time. I use it for both top stitching and in my bobbin. I admit, though, that being mortal and not aspiring to any great heights in the quilting world, I like to mix it up a bit and play with different colors. My personal favorite is a medium light beige. I don't think any quilter who understands the importance of quality thread in accurate piecing will be disappointed with this product.

Aurifil thread is always a good long staple cotton. There is very little lint. The beige is a good all-around color.

I use Aurifil for piecing quilt tops. Each spool and the bobbin lasts a long time because the thread is fine. It doesn't break; strong! The scant 1/4 inch seam is perfect. Aurifil throws off very little lint so the foot and bobbin housing stay clean. I found the 2314 color very useful as an all-purpose warm beige. Will re-order.

I am taking quilting classes and quickly learned to love this brand of thread and this color. The thread takes up less room in the seam allowing me to get the perfect 1/4" seam. Bobbins filled with this thread last a long time. My teacher keeps a supply of a light, medium and dark thread in "cool" (gray) and "warm" (tan) colors for all her quilt piecing--and now I am doing the same.

Good thread for quilting but because it is all cotton it's not so good for piecing.
