Somewhat hard to first use, but once you are familiar with it it's great.

Item requires you to have a piece of 18k gold in order to calibrate it. A little 18k disk would have been nice.

This item is easy to use, easy to carry around/store, and works very accurately. It has been well worth the money and I would buy it again.

I think I made a good choice,.it wasn't fantastic ,,but it will serve the purpose for a long time..

My AGT1 was delivered immediately. I opened it to find a unit that looked like it was used, a demonstration unit or a return. The face plate showed signs of use. The power cord lay loose in the case with no tie. The probe showed signs of previous use. I tried the unit twice for a total of 8 calibrations and less than 20 tests. The AGT1 is now showing that the probe needs to be replaced. No battery was included in the shipment. I have a 14K gold band and a 14K calibration disc that I ordered a week later. Neither will calibrate to 14K...both show 18K when following the instructions and after watching the YouTube demonstration. I have to keep the unit because I am buying gold next week. I have to try to get a replacement probe in the next few days before I leave on my trip. This is not only frustrating, but I am concerned that it may not give me an accurate reading on the gold I intend to purchase. It appears that this is a good company and that it is possible that someone just decided to send out a product thinking it was good enough. Well, it was not good enough.
