Finely Fitted Yacht V 1&2 Combined: The Boat Improvement Manual, Volumes 1 and 2

Some quaint ideas but of little practical help
If you have an old and quite large classic wooden yacht and want to make a number of small improvements then this is not a bad book.It covers multiple improvement but is too stuck in the past with almost everything being made from wood. Yes this is nice, but has little place in the modern yacht. It gives some ideas but does not go into enough detail on how to do things such as how to fix items to different structures etc.If you have a small or medium modern GRP yacht and want maintenance / improvement advice then this book will disappoint. It's well written but the American style doesn't help.

I got this for my father for christmas-this is what he said
Thankyou so much for my book. Already i see a number of ideas i can employ 'down below'.....I particulaly like the way the book is written- which turns it from a potential 'anorak' of a book into a readable pleasure....I've always had a hankering to do some woodwork- and i have a real wish for a loverly teak boarding deck (page 186-189)-so nows my chance.
