3MVHB 4611 Tape Roll - 0.5 in. x 15 ft. Dark Gray Acrylic Adhesive - Double Sided Tape with Firm Foam

There are many, many folks who make double-sided tape and tell you how great they are. I learned a long time ago that 3M makes the most reliable tape and has the fewest issues. When this item came, there were no identifying markings anywhere indicating the 3M was involved in any way with its manufacture. I didn't want to take a chance on it failing (I've been down that road before!), so I returned. Amazon is GREAT - these guys, I'm not so sure and don't want to chance it.

When the front metal bar came off of the glass top that covers the burners of my travel trailer stove, I browsed the internet for suggested fixes. In one of the blogs I visited, this tape was suggested. Finding it on Amazon at a reasonable price, I ordered it and had it in hand in time to give it a try before an upcoming camping vacation. It worked oerfectly. Easy to apply. No mess. No fuss. Great adhesion.

I have begun using VHB for everything and everything and this stuff is rated to be a top performer for heat and sticking power. It's not labeled "3M" or "VHB" on the red backing like most other rolls I have, however, it performs as I expect so I am not too concerned. It might be fake... but it seems to work as well as I'd expect.

The weatherstrip on my Weatherguard toolbox was failing because the adhesive strip they used to install it is terrible. Weatherguard sells a replacement weatherstrip kit for over $110, which is ridiculous in my opinion. I bought this tape thinking I could just replace the original adhesive strip that was used, and this has worked perfectly in this application. I have a black aluminum toolbox and in the Southern CA sun, it gets very hot - the high temperature capability of this adhesive tape has really secured the weatherstrip in place.

Did not hold my oven window as I had hoped. The adhesive was not as aggressive as the original foam tape. The window fell and shattered and had to by a new window.

I was unsure if this was legit 3M VHB tape since it has no 3M VHB labeling on the backing or the spool inside. The tape does seem to work well though. Very sticky, make sure to keep it in its packaging or an airtight bag to keep the roll from getting dirty. I picked up the 4611 VHB because its should work a bit better under higher temperatures.

I used this 3m tape a lot when I used to do body work and paint. I had moulding they would not stay in place on the roof of my truck. This tape fixed it and it is holding up. It is not impossible to remove but it takes some time and effort.
