Tye Works Standard Fire Pan Package - A Firepan for Camping and Rafting

Purchased this pan because I wanted a lighter version than the commercial grade Cambridge pans. When I first opend I thought that I made a mistake as the pan"s metal felt a lot thinner than the commercial pans. I like that the legs are aluminum for the weight savings. The instructions say to never place dutch oven (due to weight) on grill. Once set up it is very sturdy. Put less than 1/2" of dirt in bottom and built a 2 hour fire. With the commercial pans I never used dirt because of the thickness but with this one I always will. The steel turned colors as it heated up but was not warped once cooled down. I think this will work perfect for places where a fire pan is required and its half the weight of a commercial pan. I do wish the handles could be out when the lid is on to give you something to hold on to. I many try and cut the lid to allow for that. Additionally the nylon carrying bag is made of very thin material and won't last long. Overall, this pan might not handle the abuse of the Cambridge pans but if you take care of it will last many years and is so much easier to pack around.

Just came off a 7 day camping trip including 3 days on a river trip. This fire pan was excellent. It is light, easy to set up and was stable when set up. We used charcoal, and firewood. Cooked on the grill a couple of times and used it just for a campfire as well. Very happy with the performance and quality of the product.

Just used this multiple times on a seven day float trip. Worked very well and is so much lighter and easier to handle than my old one. Very impressed with the quality and the thought that went into the product.
