Brings back memories each and every time I listen to it.

I've grown increasingly fond of the movie Fame over the years, appreciating more and more what an electrifying and entertaining picture it is. It was filled with great songs, both upbeat and slower, that I feel have held up very well. Irene Cara has an amazing voice.What I would like to focus on in this review is the recording quality of the remastered CD. It is miles above the original release. If you have the original CD of Fame, cut it into little pieces and get this one. The original sounded so dull and lifeless I wondered who did the recording - it sounded like everything had a blanket over it. That was a huge insult to the movie. The remastered CD cures this - the sizzle is back. The voices and instruments are alive, not under a pillow.Adding the bonus tracks is okay - I guess you can use the two instrumental ones for karaoke and pretend you are Irene Cara. I am so glad someone made the decision to remaster this CD because the first recording was a total ruin.

Irene Cara steals the movie & the soundtrack with a couple of gems here. However, the rest of the selections are quite good as well. Worth your time if you want to relive some 80s nostalgia. I guarantee listening to "out here On My Own" will lift you out of any doldrum you may be in. it sure does me. Great song.Great soundtrack.

I only got this for the Title Track but it even includes an instrumental version as well as some very easy to listen to songs that I had forgotten about, a movie soundtrack album that is worth listening to!

I used this soundtrack--in LP form--many years ago when I first started teaching dance. This summer I used it as part of a dance history class. I used this music for the American Jazz Dance/Broadway Style section of the class, and my elementary age students had to create original choreography to the theme song--in the style of Bob Fosse. The music was appropriate for my theme and the age level of the students. After all these years, it's still catchy.

Had all the songs I was looking for and was in great condition!

I was 15 years old when I saw FAME... I loved it! I was a drama geek at the time and it was a perfect match. This remastered edition with extra tracks is wonderful. The range of the music is expanded and the level is higher. The old versions of the CD were murky!Paul McCrane's tracks shine...especially his original composition "Is It Okay if I Call You Mine." "Miles from here" is an extra track with McCrane's vocals as well.If you are a FAME fan, order this one!

having owned this on vinyl in my teens ..... i have treated to myself to the CD at last. superb soundtrack if you are an 80's kis

My daughter now has all of the series and the cd's and I recently gave her the albums back to her that she had. I kept the albums for her so one day she would have the entire collection of it all. A must see film and really good music.

The film was always so-so - but the excellent music survives the dancing!
