The Mamas And Papas: Straight Shooter [VHS]

This is documentary from what looks like the late 80's very early 90's maybe the mid 90's, the songs listed on the cover of this DVD are only snippets in the documentary, which is a shame because some of these songs have become classics...it would have been great to see these songs in full of which i was expecting, but hey what are you gonna expect from a company that's supposed to be defunct and out business that sell DVD'S and CD'S cheap, i was surprised i found a copy new....the documentary focuses mostly on John Philips of The Mamas And The Papas from humble beginnings in the band the journey men and The Mamas And The Papas and the history about them told by the remaining members of the band, interesting if you don't know much a bout The Mamas and papas..but i knew most of this from other Documentary's Shown here on U.K T.V.It's not bad for £3.70 that's including postage and if your an avid Vinyl and CD collector and has a small collection of music DVD's and Blu-ray's, for the price it'll fit in nicely with you collection, even if you only watch it once some of you friends might take an interest....hence the 3 stars 'cos it's cheap and there's nothing else on the disc..but silly me was hoping for a load of extra feature's

Great DVD dont like the bits on John Phillips addiction shatters all my memories about the Mamas and Papas and the new Mamas and Papas are terrible not a patch on the original why cant these pop stars lay things to rest when they are over and move on to new things.

Most of the tracks very good.However some not so well known but still not bad.

excellent interviews with papa john who is the main character in the dvd. other members are interviewed to a lesser degree.washes the dirty linen in public. the music is fantastic as is expected from this group.recommended to fans

Great dvd, all the hits and great documentary. Great buy for any fan.
