TERRIBLE RANGE!!!
This does create a new signal for your garage door opener. But the range on this thing is so bad. I had a different one for years and the range worked like it should. For whatever reason these ones being produced are very bad range. I can hardly shut the door with the door obviously wide open. Opening it is nearly impossible. Pulling directly up to the door and using the remote outside the window! Id try to find any alternative receiver! Easy to setup. Not really the best bang for your buck though. Responds badly.

Cheeper than buying a new garage door opener.
It works. No longer have the wall button and it has some what weak signal. I extended the antenna wire and grounded it to the garage door rail were the wheels wont hit it and now have better range. I hung a remote opener on the wall to replace the button because I plugged it into the outlet with the opener. It's all in what works for you. I found it a lot cheaper than replacing the whole unit when only the reciver was bad. And didn't have to pay a tech to fix it either.

Abysmal range
The wireless range on this makes it almost useless. When the door is closed I pretty much have to be right next to the door for the receiver to pick up the signal. Will be getting a new garage door opener next. Our original opener's wireless had gone out so I figured I would try this first before replacing the entire unit.

Very poor range
Installs easily, there's nothing special to it, ignore all the "I can't get it to work" reviews, it's not the deviceThe problem however is the range, maybe 20 feet; can't get it to open from the street, regardless of what I do with the antenna. Device works great otherwise, range is really poor.
