Juwel Automatic Smartfeeder

I bought this as I am sometimes unexpectedly away from home and whilst the fish can survive a day or two without food, why should they, especially if the dose they get is just right.This is very easy to set up.I put it on a dinner place to first of all prime it, fill the screw with food and check the dose on a clean bit of plate. When the feeder is mounted properly on its stand, it comes with the proper top with a trap door so you still use that when the feeder is not in position. Just one button to turn it off and when you turn it back on it just carries on the program.Its also easy to manually feed.I also particularly chose this one as, reviews say the food did not get damp which in some feeders it did, i think this is quite important especially if you away away for a few days to a week or even a fortnight, damp food would be pretty disastrous.There is an extension to the food hopper so you could have it running for quite a while.I suspect the dosing can accommodate a large well stocked tank. Obviously the more it feeds the less time it would last, but you would have to test that.Mine is currently on minimum dose but I have only just started with 5 fish.There are 2 different screw feeds, one is for flake type food the other for granules.I think it is well designed and whilst it looks a bit of a tall eyesore on top of the tank, you really only need it on when you are not in, but may spend more time in position.I didnt use the batteries it came with.If you are going to reply on one thing like this, use some decent batteries. The ones supplied like anything are the cheapest lowest power you can get.

Not so happy with this didn’t release any food for the fish all got stuck in the depatch door due to condensation from our tank

I had a rotary auto feeder for past couple of years and had a problem with moisture getting into the food pot , I tried pellet , flake , pellet/flake mix but always the same a nasty gooey mess at the end of a two week holiday , I saw this one and it keeps the food well away from the moisture in a clear storage pot and uses a worm screw to move the food to the tank then a flap closes over the exitAs my tank is not fitted with a pre cut hole I had to use a cutter to make one so I could fit the custom plate which the main unit sits on when in use, it has a little door in the top that is shut when the unit is in the cupboard and opened before use very simple and clever the timer has a few simple steps to set up feeding times up to three a day , if like me you have a problem with moisture in the food this is the unit for you it’s not cheap but should help a lotUpdateWent away for a short break and used the feeder for the first time and it did it’s job well , one tiny tiny problem was that some of the pellets missed the hole in the top of the tank when exiting the feeder chute , a simple fix with a couple of bits of plastic card to make a small shield and all the pellets go into the tank now and the best thing for me at least the food stayed nice and dry

Great product. Very easy to set up. Has three separate feedings if you want. Each setting allows you to decide how much food you give per feeding. Basically how many turnings of the srew to dispense the food. I only use the one once a day feeding, the others are set to 00.00 on time which is default. I make sure the above two settings have no food setting to dispense just in case it gives food out at midnight. I find that when set to one feed a day I set it at 4. This is plenty for a good pinch. I did set it to 8 and I had a tank full of flakes. I have 10 small to medium fish so this may be different for everyone else. Good thing if you want to give a day rest off food for your fish. Switch it off and then put back on after normal feed has passed. The device remembers clock and all food settings. Once batteries gone I suppose I will need to reset all. So if you have many different feeds at different times worth writing it down. I'm happy with this and use on a daily basis due to work rotas, least I wont forget a feed.

The two clear tape seals were cut on my box, and the contents had clearly been handled as there were fingerprints on the food holder, but after a quick clean up it looked like new. Product works just as advertised, and is a definite improvement over the less expensive ‘EasyFeed’, with no issues with condensation build up.Up to three servings can be set per day, with full control over the size of the servings. A button press also enables a manual feed at any time. Set up took less than five minutes.Recommended item.

Unfortunately I think this is a very expensive product that does not work well. It is not particularly intuitive and takes a while to programme. I went away for 10 days and set this to once a day. I water exchanged before I left. Sadly the flakes tend to clump together, the feeder does not close and only drops in massive clumps every so often. Also as the clumps stop it from closing the food is exposed to the air and I believe this makes it prone to going off (see photo - the food didn’t look like that when I left). Several of my fish died over this 10 day period and sadly I suspect it is the feeder. It should be noted the rest of the flakes in the box still look healthy and fine so it’s something related to the feeder.

Excellent auto feeder with some important caveats. Firstly, it’s made to fit on Juwel tanks and does that perfectly. If you don’t have a Juwel tank, it may not be suitable as it doesn’t attach to the side. Secondly, set it up before you need it and test the output on a plate to assess feeding amount accurately with you food types. There are two different screws (included) depending on if you’re using flake or granules. If you use the flake screw to dispense granules, you’ll end up massively over feeding. Thirdly, the controls are great and clear and easy to programme, but may take some tuning.

Originally purchased it for vacation periods, but started using it for daily feeding. Easily programmable, you can set amount of food and number of feedings (up to 3 a day).It works good with crisps and granules , but not so good with flakes, even though they supply a separate part for flakes. Probably because flakes are so thin and light, they more often get pressed rather than poured for the fish, and poor things get first too little, and after a few feedings too much.So I started buying crisps and the dosing is just right.The machine makes noticeable sound, so would not recommend for bedroom.

J'ai galèré pour trouver enfin un distributeur qui maintient au sec la nourriture. J'ai choisi celui-ci compte tenu de la conception qui me semblait saine et à l'usage je suis ravi de mon choix : un mois plus tard la nourriture était toujours intacte, bien protégée de l'ambiance humide sous la galerie et le distributeur a parfaitement assuré la fonction attendue. Deux vis sans fin sont fournies : une pour les flocons, une pour les granules. Programmation facile. Avec bouton d'arrêt. J'ai confectionné un support spécifiquement adapté à ma galerie (aquarium de 600 litres). Mais il peut être implanté facilement sur un aquarium plus petit que le mien.

Ottima mangiatoia per acquari juwel. Nello specifico usata su acquario Malawi con cibo granulare. Si può decidere più erogazioni nelle 24 ore e quantità selezionabile. Tutto perfetto acquario automatizzato e perfettamente funzionale. Consigliata. C è anche una girante per il cibo in scaglie, anche se secondo me con l'umidità potrebbe fare un malloppo. Cibo in granuli consigliato.

Hierbei wird die Uhrzeit der gewünschten Fütterung eingestellt und anschließend die gewünschte Menge.
