A very good pack, with some caveats
I wound up purchasing the Hazard 4 Evac Rocket after doing a significant amount of research on hiking and backpacking forums. I was looking for a backpack to use as my "manbag" when I am watching my two kids (ages 5 and 2) and on family outings. After determining the general look I wanted and deciding on a "sling" style pack, I narrowed my choices down to the Rocket and the Sitka Gearslinger by Maxpedition. Many reviewers on various gear-dork forums that I like to frequent noted that as much as they liked their Sitkas, the Rocket was hands-down more comfortable to wear. This, ultimately, sold me, though it was a near-thing. I ordered the bag in black through Amazon Prime; it arrived a day earlier than expected (always appreciated!) and in perfect condition. And, boy, does it look awesome. The first thing I noticed was that, contrary to concerns from a trusted friend who is also something of a gear-dork, the bag is very light, despite being made from 1000D Cordura fabric. It compacts nicely and comes with top and bottom compression straps (the bottom strap also doubles as a good way to secure a fleece or light jacket to the bag). The bag is exceedingly well-stitched and overall manufacture is top-notch. The pockets expand nicely and decompress to maintain an overall fairly slim profile when empty, and the bag has a very good layout for a sling-style pack. The buckles and zippers are high-quality and robust. The grab-straps on he top and bottom are firmly stitched and very strong. The MOLLE webbing is stitched in 3-across-by-4-down webs on the top sides and 3-by-3 on the front pouch. There are also several sets of MOLLE strapping on the wide sling-strap.The two side pockets are deceptively small. My narrow-mouth 1-liter Nalgene bottle fits without effort or bulging; however, my wife's 1-liter Kleen Kanteen was taller than the pocket, leaving the cap to protrude, though its width was not a problem. I have also fit two 12-ounce children's canteens side-by-side in one pocket without issue. The small top pocket is big enough to it a first aid kit and features a Velcro-friendly front for attachments or patches. The bigger, lower front pocket serves as an "admin-pouch," but, frankly, is ill-suited for that role. It has two pen slots, two mis-matched wider slots (I have fit a 3" folding knife and a Swiss Army Rescue Tool in them), and a slim, folding document pouch. The larger front pocket easily fit a baby wipe container. I would have preferred some more slots or, better-yet, a webbed pouch on the inside of the pocket's front flap; as it is, it is just wasted space and a lost opportunity. The main pocket is long, narrow, and deceptively deep. It comes with one collapsing divider which can be used to firm up the pocket or to create a "top" area perfect for storing a camera or other items you may want to access quickly but that are too bulky or heavy for the front pockets. There is a webbed pocket in the lower back of the main compartment that easily stores loose items, a tablet computer, or a slim netbook; video reviews have shown that a 13" laptop can fit, but intrudes on the side pockets. The inside of the main compartment's front flap has a zippered web pocket at the top that is sturdy and useful for small items like snacks or kids' bibs. There is plenty of room on the rest of the flap; I would like to see another zippered web pocket here in future versions of the pack, as it is again just wasted real estate. The hydration pouch is behind the main compartment and accessed through a zipper on the side. It has Velcro-friendly backing that will allow you to convert the pocket to carry a concealed handgun (I live in California and so am not able to make use of this feature). The pack does ot include a hydration pouch.Carrying the pouch, I have found that reviewers are correct with respect to weight limitations. Though the pack will hold and withstand heavy weights, it is uncomfortable to carry more than 10-12 pounds. The width of the main strap certainly makes this easier than with many sling bags I have used in the past, and the stabilization strap is actually very, very useful not just for its stated purpose but in distributing weight. I have found that having something broad and fairly firm in the back -- I often carry a folding diaper caddy (wipes container, diaper pouch, and collapsible changing mat) -- actually helps you carry more weight in the pack. That said, I've never really carried more than supplies for a day at Disneyland with the kids in the pack.Overall, this is a superb backpack. It is of high quality manufacture and material, fairly-well laid-out, and is designed for comfort in longer-wear (such as in interminable lines at certain amusement parks). I would not recommend it past a 12-hour day bag for hiking, and that for one, maybe two people's supplies. For every-day-carry or single-day hiking -- if you like sling bags -- you will find few finer, and this one is well worth the cost.

Great pack. Much preferred than the Haz4 switchback.Side bottle pockets only really good for flat top 32oz bottles, nothing tall
This is an excellent 12 hour pack, IMO. I purchased this bag 8/20/15, arrived 8/21/15, then promptly loaded it up and took it to Disneyland 8/23/15. This bag is very comfortable to carry, even though loaded with a good amount of weight for a sling, approx 25 lbs.For Disneyland, I was able to fit:2 wind breakers1 6x9 lunch pail2 sun hats1 level 1+ FAK2 sunglasses case1 21oz hydroflask bottle1 32oz nalgene bottle1 21oz stanley thermos bottle.By sinching down the pack snug onto my back, the weight was carried by secondary anti-rotate strap, and the lower end of the main strap placing the load on my abs, very minimal on by shoulder. I was able to comfortable carry this pack all day at the park. Very nice to be able to sling the pack forward to my lap on a ride, or to access something while waiting in like.My biggest CON with this pack is the the side bottle pouches only fit a 32oz nalgene bottle with about 1 inch of head room. If you plan on using on any other type of bottle that is taller than a typical 32 oz nalgene wide mouth bottle, it might not fit. Having the zipper partially open might cause the bottle to fall out.I do prefer this pack over the haz4 Switchback.

A great light-pack sling
I did a lot of searching to see what would make a good pack for some light hiking, maybe some day trips at the North Carolina Zoo. It had to be something light, small, but flexible that I can bring it as carry-on baggage when I fly without raising eyebrows.I had initially wanted the Plan-B, but it was too small for what I wanted to carry, so I chose the Rocket. I could not be happier with my purchase. The main compartment is just short of 20" long by almost 8" wide. It holds my Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition, but not inside the webbed pocket as I hoped it would. Not a deal-breaker, fortunately the pack is just wide enough--barely--to hold my tablet. For me this was the most critical part of a good bag, and the Rocket succeeded there. As other people have noted, the strap is very comfortable. Hands down the most pleasant experience on my shoulder that I have ever had. When I loaded the Rocket with my total gear (plus a mostly full camelback), it came to about 16 pounds, and the strap does a great job. I should note that the strap will sit to the right, or left, but this is not done easily. You will have to remove the strap (at the base) and relocate it to the side where the stabilizer strap is mounted. It doesn't take long, but you will be down for a few minutes while making the change--it will not be an effortless shoulder swap. I am also a little concerned with the stabilizer strap snap link because it is entirely plastic, and seems to lack the robustness of the primary strap--time will tell. The side pockets are well-made, and easily store large water bottles (such as the Brita filtered bottles my daughter uses) with a little room to spare. The front bottom pocket has a couple minor flaws--the pen holders are not deep enough, and there does not appear to be a lot of thought to how to setup a good admin console due to a lot of wasted space. That said, I can still use the area as a pocket, so there is no loss of functionality. The top front pocket is just a small anything goes sort've area--nothing particularly special there. The camelback compartment is very soft, and easily accommodates the 100 oz Omega, just not completely full of water. The website says it can take 2.5 liters, and I would agree with that--it's a tight fit by that point. But since I'm using this as a day-pack at best, that's fine. The wear is extremely comfortable for a sling. Again, I cannot speak highly enough about the strap--it is the real winner on this bag. I know I had several dings mentioned, but you should not take my word on those few, relatively minor notes in what is a very well-constructed bag. The molle is placed logically, without being too overdone and the overall experience for me rates as the best sling I have ever used. Truthfully--there is no perfect bag, but this one is the best in its' class. I genuinely like this bag. I'm a big guy--I am 330 (down 21 pounds so far!), but this bag fits well. It still flips around easily. If you are a fan of sling bags and don't need a massive size, I cannot recommend this pack enough. For light loads it does an excellent job. I'm taking it on a hike around a local lake this weekend to start breaking it in, and will update with how it handles after a working day.

Great pack
I love this bag so much. I bought it just before a trip to New York city. I used it to carry around a camel pack, and supplies while out adventuring during the day. It was comfy and held everything I needed. Thanks to the strap management velcro I never worried about a strap getting caught on something as I went along. It's now my main pack that I'll take to work and back, and wherever I go!

Quality and Comfort with a bit of Anorexia
This was my first pack outside of a bicycle/hydration pack that I am normally used to (Osprey Packs). I instantly fell in love with the sling backpack idea, what with Hazard4 packs and their easily slung packs that you can access while still on the body from just sliding from the back to the chest. The Rocket was the first pack I received and wore it for nearly a week and loved nearly every minute of it, but found it tall. It was almost like carrying a hookah bag, which isn't a bad thing, but I was looking for something a little more moderate-sized, but this turned out to be common size backpack but much narrower. The pack itself has am extremely wide shoulder strap making it very comfortable. It's ambidextrous straps is something I've never experienced before. This is quite a bit more comfortable than I'm used to. I quickly found the Hazard4 Watson to be more suited for my needs though, but I'm choosing to keep my hazard 4 Rocket for any larger needs that I may have. Very high quality and don't regret this purchase at all.

抜群の格好良さ。
いままで色々なメーカーのバッグを購入しましたが間違いなく一番の使い心地です。荷物を前面で出し入れ出来るのは非常に便利です。街中で使うと注目の的ですよ(笑)
