This book is a cute intoduction to place value for kindergarten and first graders. It leads to discussions of number value and the suggested activities for families are great. You can tell that this book was written by a TEACHER.

I purchased this book for my first grade classroom. It is perfect for learning about place value. The students loved it and I made some penguin themed activities & games to go along with it. Recommend!

Book lacks storyline and does not really develop the message of place value. I was disappointed with it.

This book is a quick read about a group of penguins who are trying to keep track of their catch. My son and I both enjoy reading this book, and it has helped him with the math concept of place value. I have also shared this book with other teachers that I know.

Lovely rhyming picture book that provides an engaging context to teach place value with different representations. Using with a mixed Y1/2 class in UK.

This doesn't really teach place value in my opinion. It teaches multiplication but without any explanation of what numbers in different positions mean.
