ROYAL BRUSH Soft-Grip Brush Value Pack 12/Pkg

I love these brushes for my watercolors - they are a wonderful value BUT they are amazing quality for me! I have ordered two sets now and I will probably order a third because I love them so much ! I wish there a mid sized dagger or a 0/0 round but I’m not complaining ! You can almost have everything ! Lol and this little set is a gem!

I just started teaching myself to paint, and one of my early lessons is that brushes are easily damaged by misuse and poor maintainence or cleaning. I imagine I'll continue to make mistakes, so before I invest in really good brushes, I'll continue to experiment with brushes I consider to be a very good value. These brushes are much better than some of my other "starter" brushes, and I've been able to achieve good results with their use in detailed work. My primary concern is that their short handles and rubber grips will teach me bad habits, but for now are more than sufficient. The wide variety allows me to experiment with different brush types and learn their patterns and capabilities. I think they are a great starter set that I can use for learning and don't have to be distraught over their wear and tear as I learn from my mistakes.

I own a small crafting business and use paint brushes on just about everything. I ordered these when they were on sale. I have never been more please with a set of brushes. The grip is amazing - never leaves my fingers aching. Plus, I have NEVER seen one hair come off of these brushes. Even during cleaning! That’s a big deal for me. I highly recommend these. Great quality at a great price.

Let me clarify absolutely that these are short-handle brushes (not long, not in-between) and they are NOT professional artist grade. They do come in a nice range of sizes and types and are decent quality beginner, student or amateur brushes. This set is a nice, inexpensive way to experiment with different brush head types, with one caveat which is the fact they are all short-handle. Note that the soft grips on all the brushes abut directly on the ferrule and due to this and the short-handles, these brushes are best for close-in and/or detail work, although they will work just fine for all general painting purposes - plus you can grip the brushes by the end to get something of the feel of working with a long-handle brush. These are decent brushes and you get a lot for your money - price is very good at $1.67 per brush and these brushes are certainly worth that - and I do like the look and feel of the clear plastic handles and hope they will stay cleaner than the wooden handles on some of my other brushes - we will see! I personally have no use for the included plastic brush wrap - I wish they had included a nice cotton one instead and/or glued some of that styrofoam-like stuff they use for flower arranging into the top of the case cylinder so that it could do double-duty as a brush dryer (you poke the handle of the wet brushes into the styrofoam, then turn the case upside down - that way the brushes dry head down so they retain their shape and the ferrules and handles aren't ruined from water/turps damage - I may try making this modification myself). I will upgrade this review if I find these brushes perform better than expected (so far I have only washed and tested a few of them).

The saying goes, "you get what you pay for." Yes one certainly does with this Value Pack...It's a great price for 12 brushes, and is more of a starter/not-expert kit for people doing acrylic [which is what I'm using it for], oil or water painting. The 20 different brushes all have a very soft rubbery ergonomic grip in the hand, which makes holding it comfortable especially since I'm a lefty and hold the brushes hard and use it for hours on end. There are a variety of brush sizes available, from tiny short bristles, to medium to large and XL bristles. The brush hairs themselves are soft and work pretty well...Again I'm only doing acrylic, but after about a couple months and maybe only 5 small canvases, the hairs have started falling out. I mean not even just a few strands that come off during painting, but large chunks of maybe 5-10+ hairs coming out of the larger brushes! That is pretty BAD quality!The plastic caddy that the brushes come in is handy for traveling or just easy storage where you won't end up crushing the brushes or the ends. Each brush tip does come with a plastic hollow tip to also protect them, altho can get easily lost. I use the top part of the plastic caddy as a water-cup, it's cheap and easy --- basically what this whole Value Pack is. Once you've learned more of how to paint and want to spend more, you'll have to as this thing might just fall apart!There is a nice included dark blue brush holder/bag that separates all the brushes and helps you organize and know when brushes are missing/etc. Overall GREAT price, DECENT quality - recommendable but upgrade if you're serious about art.

Bought this figuring I'd get a decent apron as well as a few good brushes. The brushes are really nice, made with high quality fibers and do not shed. However, the apron they provided leaves much to be desired. I'm not entirely sure it is an apron, as it seems more like a protective sleeve, and there is no way for me to actually wear the 'apron'. If you're looking primarily for an apron, look elsewhere. On the other hand, If you are in the market for a starter brush set, you can't go wrong with these. They're worth every penny.

I am a daily painter and I have bought multiple sets of these brushes now. Fantastic brushes for amazing price. I have given them as gifts and got others hooked on them too! They last longer than average and are great quality.

this brush set really is excellent well worth the price nice range of types and sizes and has comfort grip and there own carrying case or maybe satchel anyway a great brush set really good quality

Nice variety of brushes. Had a set like these when i was a child, rebought them and they are just as good. Super soft bristles that hold their shape.

these are good intermediate brushes. i was after the mop brush which works quite well. i was pleasantly surprised with the fan brush, it actually is stiff enough to work with heavy body acrylics.
