I was excited to find 1mm dpns by a make I have used and loved before...all my sock dpns are knitpro and I love them!Having moved to doing miniature lace doilies I was disappointed in the way these little black 1mm dpns handled.They are sticky - the thread doesn't move smoothly on them - whilst that meant I did not risk the needle sliding out I have since used stainless steel dpns in 1mm and finer and the going is much easier.Secondly the needles caused discolouration of the thread - it did wash out though thank goodnessI also found the tipped join on the more normal size dpns was a hindrance when doing lace as the lace loops tend to snag.

I am very satisfied with these double pointed needles. I have used this brand before, and I enjoy using them. I know that some knitters have had an issue with yarn catching at the join of the metal tip and the carbon fibre shaft, and I have too, but really it is not that big a deal unless your yarn is more loosely spun, when it is just a matter of being a bit more vigilant. The first time I used the needles, I wasn't expecting the difference they can make. I am definitely a 'process' rather than 'product' knitter (you can read 'slow' for that if you like), but from first casting on I realised I was knitting much faster and for longer, and feeling less tired. They are smooth and light weight to use, and even if a micro gap is present on one of the needles, overall it has little impact on the dramatic improvement to my knitting speed. I am writing this review after purchasing the 2.25mm x 15cm size needles to help fulfil a request for six pairs of socks for Christmas gifts. So far, it's going very well.

Superb needles - lovely to use really, really stiff so they won't break or bend! The are a bit heavier than bamboo needles, and about as slippy to knit with as wood or bamboo. They are not cold to the touch like metal needles and don't slide out the knitting as easily as metal ones do (which can be a real nuisance if you put your work down and aren't really careful when you pick it up again that a dpn hasn't fallen out of one set of stitches). These are quite expensive, but if you do a lot of knitting they are worth it. The only downside I've found is that the sizes printed on the needles wear off quite easily in use. Also be very careful where you leave them - you *really* wouldn't want to sit or lean on one of these - they are so strong and stiff that it will stick right in you rather than break. Probably not suitable for knitters with small children or hectic dogs!

These are neat and strong slender needles. There is a danger with ones so thin that they will snap but in this case they are not likely to do so. The points are sharp and the black covering on the body of the needles makes them comfortable to handle - not cold like bare metal needles can be. They are perfect for the knitting I need them for.

Lovely precise knitting needles. A little bit bumpy where the carbon joins with the metal but still very usable.One note to self though, don’t use them with black yarn. Couldn’t count the stitches to save my life!

I have some of these in size 2.25mm and love them, so bought these in 2.75mm as well. One of the tips is not smooth and has gouged scratches into the other needles. The tips don’t feel as high quality as my 2.25mm for some reason, and I’m disappointed in these. The quality is definitely not the the standard I was expecting based on my previous experience. I try to avoid using these at all cost now, and will be looking to replace them with another brand/material.
