NF-F12 5V

For a little electronics project, I bought this 5V Noctua fan, and it's been great. It moves a surprisingly large amount of air for a 5-volt fan and, true to its name, is nearly silent even when operating at full speed. It's very easy to use the included USB power adapter; simply plug it into any USB port. It operates around-the-clock without producing any noise or vibration, and I use it to cool a network enclosure. It is obviously made to last, and the build quality feels high-end. a bit more expensive than generic fans, but the quiet operation and dependability make it well worth the money.

This is a great 5V fan. It doesn't use a lot of current, it runs VERY quietly, and it pushes a lot of air. I didn't test the tachometer part but for general cooling it does a perfect job. Another solid fan design from Noctua!

Used the USB adapter to help with the airflow in my entertainment center. Works perfectly.

Used this fan to replace the large center fan in a Kootek laptop cooling pad. Fan comes with all possible connectors you could possibly need. I used the provided 3M solderless connectors. Worked great! Temp at idle went from avg. 45℃ with all fans running to 35℃ with only the Noctua in the center running. I've used many Noctua fans for tower builds in the past. One PC built in 2008 is still going strong as are the Noctua fans. Still running that machine on XP.

Noctua's fans are the best, however I would avoid this particular model. If you want to run it off USB, you don't get any fan control and it runs at full speed. You can't use the Noctua FC-1, which only works with the PWM variant, and also costs more than the fan (but can be fanned - hah - out). You can't use the LNA/low noise adapter either, because that's only compatible with 12V. This fan is quiet, but it's not silent, and my plan was to use it to add an exhaust fan in the back of our media console, powered from the AV receiver. It's a little too noisy to run while watching a movie and even 50% power would be fine. That's not to say these fans cannot be controlled, only that Noctua don't provide a solution for it and it will involve some knowledge of electronics. It's not difficult to add a regulator or active control, but it will involve splicing wires or other shenanigans.

This is one of the famous brand of manufacturing FAN in the world. This product I ordered which is 5V version, 1500 rpm fixed speed and with many accessories in the box as well. It is also the first FAN product I got that the design of the box is so pretty with detailed information and instructions. Although it seems to be low speed, it is well done in cooling my laptop and it is super quiet as the product name described. It is highly recommended their product to any one who want to get the premium product no matter in design, performance, appearance and silence.

I bought this to try to drop the temp on my CPU when under heavier loads. It is mounted under my laptop table blowing up through slots in the table and is powered by one of the USB ports on my laptop. Before I added this fan, I would see temps as high as 90-91C for all cores under heavy load (using the Core Temp App). Since I added this fan, the temps have never gone above 70C. It is also VERY quiet - so quiet that I found myself checking for air flow the first few times I turned it on. The one negative comment I have is that it doesn't have any sort of grill or protection over the inlet side of the fan so it is possible to accidentally touch the fan blades while the fan is spinning (at least in the configuration that I am using it). I will probably look for a simple grill that I can add on to prevent that from happening.

Quiet fan with good airflow with a 5v USB-A connector, does what it says on the tin perfectly and without fuss. Exactly what I needed :)
