A True Home Theater Beast — Picture Quality Is Incredible
I have had this 100-inch Hisense U8 set up for a while now, and so far I have absolutely no complaints. The picture quality is beyond impressive. Colors are bright and vibrant without looking overly artificial, the image stays sharp on such a massive screen, and the black levels and contrast make movies and streaming content look excellent. I have seen plenty of people say to buy the comparable Samsung instead because this Hisense is supposedly nowhere close, but based on my real-world experience, I disagree. For the way I use it, which is primarily streaming movies, shows, and other content, this television looks every bit like a high-end display. I do not feel like I am missing anything by choosing the Hisense. The 100-inch size completely changes the room. It feels much closer to having a theater or projector setup, but with the brightness, clarity, and convenience of a television. Even regular shows become much more immersive, and good-quality 4K content looks incredible. It also handles a reasonably bright room better than I expected. I cannot give a fair opinion on the built-in speakers because I do not use the television for sound. As shown in my photos, it is connected to a full home-theater system, so all audio runs through my receiver and speakers. My review is based primarily on picture quality, streaming performance, and the overall experience. The television is obviously huge and heavy, so mounting and positioning it is not a one-person job. Once installed, though, it is absolutely worth the effort. This has become the centerpiece of my home-theater setup, and I would purchase it again without hesitation.

Greatest Value Incredible Quality
I was getting by with a decade old Panasonic plasma TV, and in addition to noticing degradation with the screen image, I was astounded with how much heat it produced making it highly energy inefficient. I’ve always been a consumer of the higher-end brands because I feel like you “get what you pay for“ and based on my room and requirements I was ready to move forward with a high-end Sony Bravia. As they moved closer to the purchase, I noticed an inordinate number of negative reviews. This caused me to start again with my research and Hisense kept popping up. I recalled renting an Airbnb earlier in the year that had a high since flatscreen installed, and I was amazed by the picture clarity. I switched gears completely, and began looking at data from the Hisence mini LED and was amazed at the overwhelmingly positive reviews. The price was literally half of the set that I was looking at and I figured with purchasing through Amazon I would give it a try. To say I was impressed would be a gross understatement. The set is amazing. The picture quality is excellent. The remote is fantastic. Every part of it feels super high-end, except the price! My one and only complaint would have been the sound quality coming out of the built-in speakers. In the past, I have used $1000 plus Sonos units, but they tend to be glitchy. Upon further review, I found that Hi sense makes their own dedicated sound bar that comes with a subwoofer for a fraction of the price of anything else on the market. The set up an installation on both was beyond simple. The sound quality is excellent, and the consistency of operation is five star all the way.

Great tv for the price, tons of features
It’s a very good tv - smart tv . One thing though , the tv can be very bright . But there are options to reduce brightness , and also enable auto lighting so it won’t be crazy bright in the evenings . But you need to be smarter than the tv to make sure you get the right color and everything works . There’s so many color , brightness , clarity , motion settings , it will spin your head . I had a Sony Bravia 65” HD and upgraded to Hisense 75” . I wasn’t happy with the color setup with Hisense. Don’t look natural as my Sony . I had to depend 2 days to retune it. Plus it changes things depending on the input and signal type , which can be even more confusing . Had almost all or more smart features and Alexa control , Google voice control , Gemini etc etc . Sound is phenomenal. I had a receiver with 3.1 setup - due to noise and neighbor usually I had to keep my receiver on low volumes . But I don’t need it anymore . The TVs sound is amazing - it has up firing Dolby atmos and moving mini bass speakers . You feee like the sound fills the whole living area and lighten . WiFi audio and Bluetooth music is simply great . Has tons of other auto lighting , intelligent sound , picture . You can play around with it for months . Overall for the money is great. So far haven’t faced any app glitches yet . HDMI arc setting is nice to reverse feed hdmi and audio to my extractor , headset and other speakers. If you immediately want to see the quality of the TV , launch YouTube and play 8k,16k shot uhd videos - it’s simply amazing . The problem is that cable channels don’t produce 4k for most part and basically you’re scaling from 1k to 4k and the obviously if your tv is biggger 75”-100” it will look worse than your 55-65” hd tv sometimes . So the input signal matters . Throw away all your old hdmi cables , splitters , switches , receivers anything that is not hdmi 2.1 . It can mess with good signals and downgrade everything . One issue I noticed is that it can lose sound sometimes when you switch inputs . You just have to turn the tv off and on . The AI recommendation was to set it to auto full power off ( turn the plug off) overnight and on next morning . This reduces software glitches .

Gorgeous display - no regrets on this purchase.
I’m obsessed with picture quality and this tv does not disappoint. Its colors are vibrant and sharp. The anti-glare feature actually works. The only downside is its weight at about 45 pounds making it difficult for me to move and even more nervous if I attempted to mount it on the wall. But the display is absolutely gorgeous. Easy interface and setup.

Works and looks great with PC
Application: I bought this to use primarily with my pc for everything: gaming, streaming, internet, Windows apps, etc. This is my first Hisense, all my past HDTVs have been Samsung. I am reviewing this after 3 weeks of experience with it. I should point out I got this dirt cheap, since it had a real discount during Prime day, and I also redeemed all my Prime card points on it. Shipping and Delivery: The expected delivery date was initially expected to be at least a month later, since I assume it was on backorder. A week after ordering, Amazon texted me that delivery was expected the next day, nearly a month earlier than expected. They did not provide a delivery time window, however. I woke up the next morning with a delivery text showing a picture of the tv on my front porch, they delivered it at 6:30 am without any out for delivery advanced notice. NOT GOOD AMAZON! Fortunately I noticed it before someone could steal the tv from my porch. Packaging and assembly: I was actually impressed with the packaging. Hisense makes it easy to remove the tv from the box (rather, remove the box from the tv) with minimal effort, despite it being very well padded and protected. I am also impressed with the stand, it is more heavy and durable than what you might be accustomed to with other tvs. Assembly instructions were easy to follow, even easier if you watch youtube videos of other people who have done it. Remote: No frills, but I like it. Does not have a bunch of unnecessary keys. And it's illuminated which is rare with nowadays. Really the only keys I use on it are power, source, and settings. Everything else I do from my pc. Setup: Initial setup with all the Google crap was more time consuming than I cared for. So many steps which are unskippable for things I did not intend to use. But after that, I connected my pc to it via HDMI and I was surprised how good it looked on the pc before I did any calibration, even better than my previous Samsung tv which looked good. I did do some tweaking within Win11, but very little tweaking was needed with the tv settings. Video: The text in Windows on my pc looks remarkably clear. I had reservations before buying this tv, since it has a BGR subpixel layout instead of RGB, and RGB is supposedly better for pc text. Turns out, that does not really matter. Using the internet and streaming looks wonderful, as do pc games. I use HDR with most all sources (with some additional tweaking with my pc and nVidia settings). Colors are vibrant, blacks are as good as OLED (seriously), and the contrast is excellent. With the tv supporting up to 5000 nits brightness, I had concerns about that. But on my pc the picture brightness looks just right. The tv picture mode I leave mostly on HDR Gaming mode. But Win11 is using only 800 nits which is plenty bright. I did try calibrating with the Win11 HDR calibration tool to use the full 5000, but that was mostly too bright, and strangely that forced my tv into Dolby Vision picture mode with everything. So I went back to the default 800 nits. (Win11 has been having issues with Dolby Vision, just google it.) Audio: Yeah, the tv has speakers on the back (silly concept). I don't use them of course. I use my receiver for the audio. Although I should point out, this tv does support having audio on both the tv speakers and the receiver or soundbar at the same time, which is also a rare feature for a tv. I played around with that a little, but went back to the receiver exclusively. It also supports audio passthrough via eARC or optical. Summary: Overall I am very happy with this tv (or I should say monitor) so far. It has been better than I had expected. Since I use it mostly with my pc, I rarely use the smart features or any of the installed apps on the TV. Running apps on a pc instead of a tv is a much better experience, believe me. And no, I do not use this sitting at a desk. Lol. The tv and pc are in my living room, I use it sitting at least 8 feet away in a sofa chair with wireless devices. The only way to go!

Excellent TV – Great Picture and Easy Setup
I am very happy with this TV. The picture quality is sharp, bright, and vibrant, making movies, sports, and streaming shows look fantastic. The sound quality is also better than expected for a TV in this price range. Setup was quick and easy, and connecting to Wi-Fi and streaming apps took only a few minutes. The remote is simple to use, and the smart TV features work smoothly. Overall, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality television.

Great TV for Modern and Retro Gaming and Streaming Video
I did a decent amount of research for a TV that would perform well with video gaming. I do use some 4K streaming services as well. They look great. The 165Hz refresh rate and built-in game mode work perfect for what I need. I use the built-in AI smart feature for sound and got the picture settings looking wonderfully!! It is a bit heavy due to it's large size, but the packaging is made so that 1 person can set it up if you have the strength to lift it. It was very easy to attach the stand base. The remote feels very sturdy and has back-lighting for ease in the dark. The buttons push easy and are conveniently placed. I have hooked up an external speaker through Bluetooth and the sound is very responsive. I have also hard-wired ethernet to the TV, though Wi-Fi is an option. I also have a 1980 Intellivision console connected to the ATSC tuner port and it works great. The only dislike I can find is that it had 3 HDMI ports. I wish it had more, but I got around this by purchasing a separate HDMI splitter. For the value of what you get at a decent price, this is the best TV in its class and size!

Absolutely worth it! A true home theater experience.
After spending a lot of time comparing Sony, Samsung, LG and TCL, I decided to go with the Hisense 100” U8 Mini-LED, and I couldn’t be happier. The picture quality is outstanding. HDR content looks incredible, blacks are deep, colors are vibrant without looking oversaturated, and the brightness is more than enough even during the day. Gaming on the PS5 has been amazing. Games like The Last of Us Part II Remastered look absolutely stunning with excellent detail, smooth motion and very low input lag. Movies are equally impressive. Once you spend a little time adjusting the picture settings to your preference, the image quality rivals TVs that cost significantly more. The Google TV interface is fast, setup was straightforward, and the TV has worked flawlessly. If you’re looking for a true cinematic experience at home without spending OLED flagship money, this TV is an incredible value. I would absolutely buy it again.
