Ok, let me tell you that even though these are good earbuds, they fall short of being as good as they were when they were first released. Now I believe that this model is now discontinued, so any of these that are sold now are just back stock. I had ordered a pair of these for my daughter a few years ago when they were first released. And that pair was unbelievable. Super clear highs, nice deep bass, and the the aluminum bodies felt nice and heavy. Sturdy to the point you wouldn’t mind tossing them in your pocket or in your bag without the zipper case they come with. But this set I just ordered, which was probably some of the last batch to come down the line before they quit making them, just feels like they are made of plastic. Yes, they are still aluminum, but it seriously feels like plastic. No hefty weight to them like they were before. And yes, they are still double drivers in each bud, but that deep bass just isn’t there anymore. The highs aren’t as crisp either. It just seems like the last few they produced were made by a totally different company. I have always been a fan of MTX. I have always trusted the name. But they really messed up on the last run of these. So here’s the thing, the only way I would ever suggest somebody buying these now, would be if they could find a used pair of the early releases, or if you could find somebody that still has a pair of an early releases that they never took out of the box. But in no way would I suggest somebody buying a new pair from a store/distributor that are only selling a later version......however, I could have it all wrong here. What if this set is a cheap fake clone now being sold as the real thing? Who knows? But if I was you, I wouldn’t take a chance. I hope this review helps somebody out trying to decide on a purchase. It would have helped me out. I could have just skipped these and went with Panasonic/Technics.

I've owned these in red before and they sounded great... These however sound like it's missing much of the higher frequencies. Bass is there but just doesn't sound as clean. I bought 2 pairs in excitement for finding my old favs but ... Meh... such as life.

I was searching amazon for quite a while trying to find a good pair of new headphones for the gym. I listen primarily to bass heavy music and metal. I used to own a pair of koss's that were cheap and great. I found many pairs on here with great reviews but always seemed there were also alot of 1 start complaints.. I couldn't choose.. so I went out on a limb. I owned a pair of mtx subwoofers in my previous vehicle and they were great! So having experienced some mtx power, I grabbed these. They came almost a week soon with standard shipping and I immediately tried them out! Great sounds and quality! Came in a a nice mtx box with the headphones inside zipped into a nice travel bag and extra earbuds.. also a manual lol... couldn't wait to write a review as I'm sure others are probably searching for a great new pair and are skeptical given the amount of bad reviews that accompany the good ones on just about every pair of earphones on amazon.. they are awesome!

Wow! Reviews can be helpful...or contribute to the wasted time that goes with trying a product, based on generally positive reviews, being thoroughly disappointed, returning it...and wondering "What on Earth were those "good" reviews about?!?" I have Shure, Narmoo, RHA and Ultimate Ears IEMs. Although most of them were vastly more expensive than these, the Narmoos were cheaper and yet sound considerably better. These IEMs produce a dull, muddy, congested sound. Just...simply...NOT good.

Amazing earbuds . These things are. Nothing short of amazing. They blow all the other brands away , especially the ball pampered Beats audio . Metal construction and zero distortion even on very high volume and super super sound canceling can't hear anything threw them and have to love that thundering MTX bass , the vocals actually over shadow the bass on some songs tho so don't worry about that .. everything is very well tuned but anything bass boosted and these puppies will shake your ears off . So impressed I just love them I am a huge bass head (just bought a MTX 9500 15 inch subwoofer ) and I love these for the gym, bring the thunder anywhere now !

AWFUL! These actually made my music sound worse. No highs or lows, just muffled flat. Stay away, waste of money.

They are some nice ear phones.
