Lessons are better than anything Disney
I love Berenstain Bear books. Ever since I was a kid. It makes me really happy to still have them accessible to bring home and read to my kids now and see how much they take out of the books. Too many kids books rely on Disney characters and the most basic of lessons just to make a money grab, but Berenstain Bears books were written and made with love. No glitz or glam. No computer generated images. You feel something different reading a Berenstain Bears book with your kids. These books focus on so much more than toys and product placements. They are life lessons. And even if you’re like me and don’t follow a religious upbringing, the values and lessons expressed in these books are well worth the purchase.

Great Children's books.
A wonderful book for children. Very educational, very well illustrated and very entertaining. Love all Berenstain Bear books that I have ever read. These books have always been favorites with my children and now my grandchildren. Would highly recommend. I enjoy the books as much as the children do which is great when you are reading a book to children.

This is a precious book for children
Since I am a retired Certified Reading Specialist I feel I can evaluate reading material for any level. This book has stickers which would appeal to younger children. It also teaches about one holiday that is special to the United States. It also explains the seasons which is science. Music is included as well. I highly recommend this book and this provider of books.

I love that this book talks about how thankful we are for all the things that we want to teach our kids are most important. God, family, country. I adore this BB's. This book is great!

Promotes thankfulness and good values
It does a nice job of pointing out areas where we should be thankful beyond our own personal blessings. My grandchildren enjoyed the book and asked to have it read again even after Thanksgiving.

Great story except for one inappropriate/insensitive line
This book has been a hit with my 6-year-old and 3-year-old, especially the 6-year-old, as he can connect it to what he has learned about American history. The book doesn't have a real plot, but that's not a weakness -- it's essentially a lesson about our country's heritage and the many things we have to be thankful for (faith, freedom, family, friends, peace, plenty, etc.). It's a gentle, lovely, educational book. The only weak point is at the very end, which I see another reviewer also noticed. As they are getting ready to eat, Brother says it's a shame there aren't any Native Bears to share the feast with, and Gramps makes a really dismissive remark about it. Why? After the book's wonderful messages, there's no need to disregard the suffering and experience of Native "Bears." I guess it was supposed to be funny, but I don't want to teach my children to poke fun at someone else's expense in that way. I can only imagine how a Native American child reading the book with his/her family would feel.
