Melissa & Doug Wooden Construction Building Set in a Box (48 pcs)

Got this for our 5yo autistic spectrum ADHD son who loves Legos and anything involving manipulation of parts of a whole or whatever. He enjoys figuring this out. It requires more than just sticking Legos together. It involves twisting and trial/error, critical mechanical thinking. I also like that it's wood, not plastic. I also appreciate that this is a "genuine" M&D brand product, you can be relatively reassured for material safety and quality. I've had no issues. I do with the wood was more "finished" or glazed to aid in cleaning but other than that it's fine and seems like it'll hold up for his younger sisters. It's also fun to watch two or more of them fiddle with all the bits, snatching the finished pieces from brother, tantrums over nonsense. But yes, if your kid loves putting stuff together or likes identifiable categories of numerical stuff then s/he will probably find some use out of this at least.

This is the small version of an activity my grandson greatly enjoyed at the Children's Museum. He loved building with the boards and nuts and bolts. I was delighted to see this home version and bought it immediately. My grandson went right to work once he saw the kit, and I know it will provide hours of play time. Quality is good, number of pieces adequate for building things. Very affordable. I recommend as a gift for young boy or girl.

I was looking for a building toy for my granddaughters that wasn't all pink and princessy. This had just enough pieces to make it a hassle to clean up and keep together, but not so many pieces that the girls were likely to lose them. The children actually love this set and being a M&D toy, it is one of my favorites - especially since it comes with a storage container. They aren't quite old enough for foot piercing legos so this set was perfect for them. It isn't a noisy or loud toy, but I will save that for another birthday.....

These are great for hours of play. One of my children's favorite toys. The only problem is the washers and cubes are pretty easily stripped, so don't tighten things too tightly. Also, the glue doesn't hold the screws together as long as I would hope. This being said, I still thing it is worth it for the hour of imaginative building and play it has fostered for my children.

I bought this construction set for my daughter 1 year back, when she was 5 years old. Now, she is 6 and still likes to play with it. I missed writing it's review back then, but today when I was just going through my old orders, I happened to read few reviews by other buyers. I was surprised to see that people has given so much negative feedback about this set. Honestly, I think it's a pretty good construction set and helps my daughter to use her imagination to build some new structures apart from the provided ones. All the pieces go in very with well each other very and get easily screwed together. My daughter never had any problem with it. I would definitely recommend this product!

The product was perfect but it was from my three and four year old granddaughters and it was a little too hard for them.

Exactly what my 3 years old needed, he enjoys playing with it all the time, good material, price and very safe.

What a fun product for my toddler. Some of the pieces are a bit hard to assemble—the wood doesn’t always lign up easily. That being said it is a super fun bin of loose parts.

I bought this product for my 3yr old grandson. He loves it and has constructed many wonderful objects from it . I would recommend this set .

Great finish, beautifully made. Works very well as mentioned in the instructions. It was easy for the child to put it together.
