Solar Panel Cable 100 Ft - Mc4 Pv Extension- 12 awg 600 vdc - Sunlight Resistant This may be used to extend one wire 100 feet to another MC connection, or cut in half to extend both positive and negative wires 50 feet to normal wire connections. Photovoltaic Wire, commonly known as PV Wire, is used as a grounded interconnection wire and for underground photovoltaic power systems. This product is sunlight and UV resistant and commonly used in solar applications. ROHS compliant. All Wires are UL Listed and Sunlight Resistant.

Not made in the USA as Twice Proclaimed, and over 20% Smaller Wire than the 10 AWG Stated
I specifically bought this for 2 reasons. First, it said it was made in the USA (not just once, but said it TWICE on the description), and as someone who recently got laid off after 29 years with my last imployer, it is important to me to support USA jobs and companies whenever possible. Second, I got it because it said it was 10AWG wire and I wanted heavier cable to keep resistance to a minimum. It came today (ahead of time), it looks like it is good quality cable, and packaged well, BUT IT IS NOT made in the USA and it is NOT 10AWG. The cable was made in the Dongguan Slocable factory in Guangdong Province, China and the wire size printed right on it is sq. mm's, not in AWG. It is a 4 sq. mm's cable. 10AWG wire would be at least 5.26mm's so it is over 20% smaller than it says - barely above 11AWG . The closest this could come to being called American made is if someone in the USA crimped the 2 ends on it here in the US - and even then the best one could say is "assembled in America." IF that is what happened it would be interesting to see where the connectors were made. I didn't measure it to see if it is really 100' long. If it was what it said I would have given it 5 stars.

Excellent cable
I pulled these cables through my attic to reach my solar panels in the backyard from the garage. I have a lot of extra cable, but will not splice into it to make them fit. My voltage drop seems to be minimal (maybe a volt), and I lost (maybe) .5 amps on the longer run. BUT! I have 10AWG cable that is strong (stupid thick insulation). I tinned the ends with a micro torch and solder to plug into my charge controller. The insulation and cable did not melt or burn too much. So, these cables are pretty darn tough. Glad I got them. I am only running 3 100w panels now, but will go up to 5 w/o any problems.

Beware - NOT AS ADVERTISED
Beware - this is not what it is advertised to be. The description says it's 10 AWG - that's hogwash. The size printed on the cable jacket says 4mm (squared). That equates to a size slightly smaller than 11 AWG. This isn't rocket science. It's not a mistake by the vendor - a child could quickly do a search and find that the size is not as advertised. The size of solar cables is important in reducing voltage loss and this cable will result in a higher loss than true 10AWG cables.

The wire seems very sturdy and well made
I bought this cable to cut up and use for rewiring my older solar panels with MC4 connectors. The wire seems very sturdy and well made. It has a good tough outer cover and excellent insulation. My only complaint was that it was hard to strip with standard strip tools although this is not at all the fault of the cable. If I was doing a larger batch, I think I'd invest in a good stripper in the future. I would buy this cable in the future if I need more.

its look like size 14 or 12 and has single coated shield
this is my second time to buy this cable , it said that size 10 , but doesn't have label that its a gauge 10, its look like size 14 or 12 and has single coated shield , other good cable has 2 types of coated rubber shield. its to cheap kind of cable.

12awg maybe, but short runs make it worth it.
It's decent cable and connectors are not bad. I cut mine into 4X 25' lengths added connectors. I am seeing 7.5-8 amps coming in. Would use again for sure

Good wire and less expensive than buying other 10awg wire. Maybe not the best, but the price is right for what's delivered.
Good wire, flexible enough, easily stripped. Not 1005 copper but for short runs that's not going to make much of a difference. I'm running about 45 feet and get a full 20 amp out of two panels with no problem.

good cables
This is the second set of pre-made cables I've bought. Crimped well, tough jacket and voltage drop was as expected on this long of a wire run. They are now installed temporarily but will be eventually buried. Time will tell how good their DB rating is.
