where is this saffron from?

We import our Saffron directly from Organic Saffron Farmers from countries like Morocco, Iran, Afghanistan & Georgia. This 2018 batch of Saffron is sourced from Afghanistan. International Taste & Quality Institute recognizes Afghan saffron as one of the World's Highest Quality of Saffron in terms of Color, Taste & Aroma.

How many stems come in this order.

A good rule of thumb is to use about three strands a person. There are approximately 463 threads (3/8” to ½” in length) per gram of saffron so 2 gram would yield approximately 290-300 servings.

How does one use saffron? can i put a few threads in a smoothie? or does it need to be in hot soup or tea? what does it taste like?

Saffron has been used since antiquity for its culinary & medicinal benefits of aroma, flavor & health. You can pretty much add a few crushed threads of Saffron to any of your cooking comprising of soups, souffles, stew, sauces, rice dishes, juices & cold-hot drinks.
