Treatex Exterior Cedar Oil 31380H 2.5 LTR

After having a garden room installed with a shingle roof we thought it was important to protect them from the elements as soon as possible. Having searched around it seemed Treatex Cedar protection would do the job the best. The paint itself was easy to apply but it only covered half the roof so we had to buy a second can to finished it off. We then thought one coat wasn’t enough so we bought a third tin. This third tin covered the whole roof with a bit left over so evidently covering raw shingles requires a lot of paint due to absorption into the wood. Hopefully the Treatex will have protected the shingles well. Should find out in a year or so.

The product failed to protect our lovely new decorative larch fence. It developed mould and turned black. The supplier came out, did tests and confirmed that the wood did not contain moisture - and then denied all responsibility. Very disappointing having spent a lot of money on the Treatex product - it ruined our fence.

Applies well and looks fantastic, used on grade 1 cedar roof shingles, however extremely disappointed with coverage, I realistically did not expect to cover up to 35sq/m as quoted on the tin as I was applying to new untreated cedar, however I was certainly expecting to get significantly more than 11sq/m from the tin, have had to purchase another tin

This is a first rate treatment oil for red cedar boards. It certainly enhances the colour and look of the boards and it goes a long way. It seems more expensive at first sight since it's a 2.5 litre tin but on analysis it's cheaper than many other products available in smaller quantities when priced by litre. With this product I have enough left for another treatment.

Well it's up to you, you can let your lovely cedar bleach in the summer sun or you can apply this fantastic product and see the incredible colours in the wood in all their glory. Simple to apply with a soft brush, results are amazing. Bit pricey but totally worth it.

Excellent product, bought from this supplier, as needed extra tin at short notice. Usual supplier was out of stock. Easily applied. Mind if you are applying near glass remember to wipe off before it dries as it's extremely difficult to remove from glass if it has dried on.

Very easy to apply and gives the wood a rich colour with a natural matt finish
