A prayer rope is a cord with many knots, which is employed by Christians to count the number of times one has prayed the Jesus Prayer or, occasionally, other prayers. The use of the prayer rope makes it possible to pray the Jesus Prayer unceasingly and without distraction, and it helps to overcome temptations in one’s spiritual struggle in order to fulfill God’s commandments. We were created by God and for God and with Him only can we be fulfilled, in every good sense of the word. God is our parent, and our closest neighbor, and our joy, and our comfort, and our patience, and our perseverance, and our repentance, and our tears, and our prayer, and our love, and our freedom, and our happiness, and our health, and our food, and our drink, and our clothing, and our future, and our goal, and our strength, and―all things ours. It is up to us only to have a good intention, to use the gift of freedom in order to build union with God (through prayer) and to struggle in that direction, while everything else is an act of God’s grace, which cooperates with us.

A Good Stretch Made All the Difference
I love this prayer rope, but at first I found it very uncomfortable to use simply because the knots were so close together that they felt almost indistinguishable between my fingertips. That's why I prefer beads instead - easier to move along with the fingertips. Then, just out of sheer curiosity, I tried gently s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g the rope in each of the four sections, being careful not to pull too hard to avoid breaking it (not that it probably would even break at all). That made all the difference!!! With the knots now separated by an eighth of an inch or so, I can glide the knots between my fingertips with ease, making the whole prayer/affirmation process much more comfortable!! I just wanted to offer that in case anyone else found the knots so close as to be awkward to move through their fingers easily. Overall, it's very well made with a high quality feel. I will treasure it for years to come.

A beautifully made prayer rope The nylon works extremely well. I find it a little more comfortable when wrapped around my wrist and than the traditional wool and it’s easier to count the knots. I highly recommend this item.

I Use This Prayer Rope For Daily Prayer
This prayer rope is beautiful and well made. In the description they tell us about how to use the prayer rope for the Jesus Prayer. I like to use it to help me focus on four areas: 1. Praising God, 2. Asking Forgiveness, 3. Prayer for Others, 4. Prayer for Self. Because the rope is divided into four sections of 25, I can focus on (at least) 25 things in each of the four areas I have chosen. It helps me think first of all of God's blessings and repenting before asking for anything.Most people probably don't need a prayer rope to focus, but I am finding it helpful. As I move down the beads on the rope, God reveals more and more about Himself, others and myself.

This prayer rope is what I wanted.It is just the right size.It came with a little card with a picture of the monastery on it, and a little note on the other side from the Sisterhood thanking me for the purchase.This surely gave it that "personal" touch.Truly a reasonable price.Again, so pleased.

Just what I wanted and more
This prayer rope feels wonderful in my hand. It's a bit stretchy, which is great because it wraps around my wrist the proper size when not in use. It came with an extra gift of a keychain with cross. It seems made to last, but if something happens, I will order from here again. It's a great way to support the monastery. Sisters, please pray for me.

Prayer rope (Very Comfortable to wear
This prayer rope is excellently made, very comfortable to wear as I have waited at least a week before giving a review. I have worn it everyday and I find that it helps me to pray more. I love the feel of it and I really like the silver beads with the black they really stand out.I won't do without this prayer rope now I genuinely love it and I would recommend this for other people.
