Lone Wolf and Cub Gallery Edition

This is likely the most beautiful comic-book related thing I will ever own. It was breathtaking to turn the pages.If you like Lone Wolf & Cub, you owe it to yourself to have this in your collection.

This is an amazing series and this art book does it justice. If you are a fan of Lone Wolf and Cub then you do yourself a favor and pick this up.

Love it, it's a fascinating read

Beautiful book, well worth the money!

This is a Review of the Gallery Edition. Simply put: This is a beautiful addition to the ongoing series of original art editions popular in the collector's market. The story is famous and well reviewed elsewhere. The art reproduction is superb and the "Inside Look" doesn't really do it justice. The artist employs multi-media inks, washes, and zip tones with splashes of color (for their grey tones in print) which look spectacularly cinematic in the original art. Dark Horse includes the English translations on the left facing page of each original plate. I personally found this distracting and unnecessary and it doubles the size of the book. I would have preferred just the Japanese originals and a book half the size. It's a quibble however, as others may feel differently. The main point is that the art is glorious and dramatic and this is easily one of the nicest original art editions I've seen. Even though the selection is a tiny fraction of the entire work, it does not lesson your appreciation for the mastery of the art included and we're probably lucky to have even this. This book certainly does justice to one of the finest series the medium has ever produced in any language.

Je pourrais m'étendre pendant des heures sur la qualité exceptionnelle de ce manga, de cette saga extraordinaire et ses auteurs qu'étaient Goseki Kojima le mangaka et l'immense Kazuo Koike ( qui nous a quitté il y a peu ). Soyons clairs, cette édition est faite pour les puristes qui veulent se replonger dans le travail de ces deux maîtres. On trouvera dans cette superbe édition spéciale les derniers chapitres du manga avec le tant attendu duel entre Restudo Yagyu et l'invincible Ogami Itto ! Cette fin m'avait déjà remué lors de la lecture du manga, mais la redécouvrir ici dans son format d'origine avec les coups de pinceaux, les traits tempétueux qui se jettent dans chaque coin des pages apportent ici une nouvelle vision juste incroyable ! Profitez-en pendant qu'il en reste quelques exemplaires dans la nature parce qu'à mon avis c'est probablement déjà trop tard et certains chiens galeux de spéculateurs ne louperont pas le coche ( bien qu'encore une fois ce manga est un truc de puristes, en tout cas réservé à des gens qui apprécient les "jidaïmonos" les chambaras, les sagas historiques rares dans le paysage éditorial des mangas ) !! FORMIDABLE EDITION !!

Un livre vraiment magnifique, rendant hommage à ce qui est pour moi le plus beau manga jamais publié (partiellement adapté dans une série de six films eux aussi sublimes). Reproduction en fac similé de nombreuses planches, dont l'intégralité de l'épisode final. Les planches originales étant bien entendu lettrées en japonais, la page en vis a vis fournit la version anglaise. Un "must have" pour tous les fans, quand aux autres tachez de découvrir ce manga!

Amazing book! The size of it was larger than I expected but was pleasantly surprised. It shipped very well protected. A must have for any Lone Wolf and Cub fan.
