It held up pretty well with winds around 10 mph and with gust ...
Two weeks prior, I burned myself in the sun while fishing. There was just no where to hide from the sun. No even under the rear hatch door of the truck. So after brief search on Amazon, I stumbled upon this canopy fly.It is a simple, no frill fly. Just used it this weekend on the beach. It held up pretty well with winds around 10 mph and with gust up to 20 mph. I think anything beyond that would of broken something. The poles that hold the awning in the vertical position bowed slightly during the wind gust, but nothing broke. When folded up, its small and compact. Took very little space. With my weather conditions at the beach, it was border line needing two people to set up. The wind gust made it a bit more challenging, but luckily it didn't fly off.If I had a gripe, it would be the bag. The included bag could have been a tad bit bigger to fit the added sand stakes and plastic mallet. But for how it was designed and sold for, it is a keeper and must have to save yourself from the sun.Update: I finally got around to rinse off the canopy and noticed 2 of the clips ripped off. That is a shame, that this canopy could not handle the wind, so be careful when using it on windy days. I really like the concept of the shade tent, but with this recent issue and the prior gripes, I'm going to have to knock it down in the ratings.

Darn good design, but they cheapskated some of the materials.
The poles used to construct the canopy work well, but the poles used to erect it are flimsy. The first strong wind and one of those poles bent in half. Also, the stakes are nearly worthless. Get the 10" steel nails and use two guy lines per pole. So, buy two of these poles https://amzn.com/B00VTJKB1OFour good stakes for the two poles https://amzn.com/B002HU086Cand four guy lines https://amzn.com/B00J41E38G which are about 3 feet too long. Cut them down and melt the ends with a lighter so they don't fray. Now you've got yourself a descent canopy. If you want it to stand alone without being attached to your vehicle, get 2 more poles and the extra stakes and guylines. That's the way i set it up so i can drive off and still have a canopy to come back to.

Awesome Shade with Multiple Uses!
I originally purchased this shade to take with us on our annual, family reunion camping trip. We have a spot where we go every year that has a lot of beautiful trees all around - except for where we spend a good portion of our time - in a clearing where the tents are set up and we do all our cooking. No one wants to sit in a stuffy tent just to get some shade in the middle of the day, but being able to create shade wherever you go is what I was aiming for, and I think I found a way to do it.The shade arrived quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by how small the bag was that housed it - so small it will be super easy to pack in the car and to also stow away. I also love the gray color with yellow stitching. The set-up instructions are on a giant tag attached to the inside of the bag so you can’t lose them. This thing is also very easy to set up. If you have ever set up a tent, this will be a piece of cake. If you have never set up a tent, this will be a piece of cake. Basically, you slide two poles through the top of the shade and that’s it! If you so choose, there are two other poles you attach to the front (rear?) of the shade that you secure in or on the ground. There are ropes/bungees you can attach to any of the four corners to secure it however you want. There is also a screen window on the tent that can be closed by Velcro so you can allow light in at will.Eager to see what this thing could do after it arrived, I decided to pop it open and check it out. That’s when I coincidentally discovered it made the perfect shade for our kiddo to play under outside - BONUS! We live in an area that is notoriously hot in the summer and have very little covering in our backyard so she’s usually stuck indoors which can make us both a little crazy. All that to say, this unexpectedly awesome use for the shade was very welcomed. As mentioned before, I haven’t taken this camping YET, but so far it has been worth it just to allow my daughter the chance to play outside in the middle of the day without having to load up on tons of sunscreen. I also think my guy was scoping it out for an upcoming fishing trip, which seems like a great idea actually, if you like to sit by the water and fish all day...

Amazing awning at at great price
This awning is absolutely amazing. As a single camping woman I can honestly tell you that I can set the awning up totally by myself. In addition it folds up into a bag that is less than 24" long and only weighs a few pounds.Even tho this awning is designed for the back of an SUV it works great on my little camperMy other awning takes a man to move it out of the car and 2 or 3 people to set up.

Buy with caution
A few things broke the first time. One corner piece that holds a pole up in place and a cross pole to keep the awning wide.Another big deal...when it rains it leaks from the top vents. There are many different ways to use this and it gives a good amount of shade. I actually like it and think maybe I got the one bad one out of the many produced but can't exchange it for a new one since It's been a couple months already.
