Q: will this operate a temp gage

Basically this is a switch. A thermal switch. One wire is from a power source the other is a lead to the radiator fan(s). When the coolant gets hot enough the switch will close circuit and allow power to run to operate fan. It is not a thermostat: a thermostat sending unit can sense fluid temperature electrically and send that info to gauge via a wire connection. So the answer is no. This part will not work as sensor for temp gauge.

Q: Where is this sensor located on the Honda helix? I know that one temp sensor is located next to the thermostat, where is this one located? Thank you

Answer is an educated guess on both parts. 1) probably closes (contacts close to power fan(s)) about 190-200 degrees. 2) Looks to be 1/2 inch pipe thread. The reason I do not know the exact specs is because I bought it as a replacement part. The listing in description had my exact usage listed-so I did not need exact specs. So if you are fabricating, essentially it is a thermal on switch. Male threads can be adapted.
