Replaced this piece with no electronics experience
This worked for my Dell Inspiron laptop. The model number was not included. I matched it based on appearance. With no experience opening up a computer I replaced this piece, as my plug would no longer stay in or charge as wires were broken. It took looking at youtube videos and Googling how to unclip ribbon cables and removing lots of screws...but this inexpensive piece saved me buying a new laptop or an expensive repair. Just be careful, don't touch parts you don't need to and look at videos and you too can fix. I've been using my computer now for weeks with no problem. I couldn't even buy this piece from Dell...thanks!

It works! Tip: replace your power cord, too.
My Dell laptop stopped charging the battery. The first replacement power jack I bought from a different seller didn’t work. I thought I’d give it another try and I’m glad I did. It worked!If you find yourselves facing the “plugged in, not charging” problem that seems to plague Dell laptops, don’t give up after your first attempt! Try a different seller for the power jack. AND replace the power cord as well. I tested the first power jack with the old and new cord with no luck. The second power jack worked with the new power cord, but not the old one. Problem solved!
