This item does not work at all. The razor doesn't seem to make any contact with skin. Is it possible to somehow "adjust" it? Perhaps by bending?

I had to bend mine. I was replacing a similar item so I was familiar with how the work. A little bend made all the difference

how do I insert blade

There is a metal piece that moves and it covers the blade. Slide it toward the handle to release it to take it off. Take that piece and turn it upside down. Lay the blade into that piece. Take the large part with the handle and turn it upside down and place it on top of the blade and slide it towards yourself so that it is locked into place.

How do you purchase replacement blades??

the replacement blades are the standard type used by all of these trimmers.
