Shamans, Witches, and Maya Priests: Native Religion and Ritual in Highland Guatemala

I came across this by chance while searching for material on another subject. An easy to read, extremely informative book. As I am not overly acquainted with the Mayan culture, I appreciated the author taking time to describe things in detail as well as the glossary which was easy to reference while reading. The author was extremely respectful to the culture. The first hand account of these rituals was most interesting, putting this book in a special and unique place in my heart.

Gorgeous book. Although it did come with some annoying markings (see photos). I haven't read it yet, but I flicked through it and seems very interesting. I was concerned it would be mostly pictures but no, there is a lot of text. It's relatively thick and heavy. Looking forward to reading it.
