Gluco HT111 Blood Glucose Diabetes Monitoring System for Dogs, Cats & Horses

I initially bought this meter when my dog was diagnosed with diabetes and one of the main reasons I bought this unit was because the strips are cheap. The meter is as accurate as the alphatrak 2 which I also own but rarely use because strips are expensive. The only issues I experienced are that it needs a slightly larger blood drop than the alphatrak, and also the strips that came with the meter failed a lot of times. Haven't had a single strip fail after I bought additional strips.

Vet suggested we get a meter to check levels at home. This little thing is great. Fairly easy to use. The thing to prick with doesn't work great but that's not a big deal. Using on my diabetic yellow lab.

I use this system to test glucose levels in my diabetic dog. I've compared the readings to another system I have and to my veterinarian's results. It is accurate and does not require a large blood drop like some other testers. I've been using it for over a year and am pleased with it. Additionally, the test strips are more affordable than other pet tester strips.

I took this in to the vet's office with me after my dog was diagnosed with diabetes. The vet did a blood test using their professional equipment, getting a reading of 355. Then she did the test using my machine and the reading came out 459. So the glucometer reads about 100 higher than their office equipment. I'm continuing to use it every day when I check his blood at noon, assuming that it's reading high, and making a note of it. I'll be buying another one in the future that hopefully will read more accurately than this one.UPDATE: Last visit to the vet on July 9th. My dog's reading was 135. We finally have his insulin dosage right and he seems to be doing very well. This glucometer, however, IS NOT! Sometimes it tests higher, sometimes it is much lower than it should be. I have taken readings only minutes apart and found the readings to differ by 100-200. It is definitely unreliable, and when monitoring something as important as your dog's health, you need something with better accuracy. I've lowered my rating from 2 stars to one, and I would NOT recommend anyone purchasing this unit, even if the strips are cheaper.

The original units screen did not display properly unless I squeeze the screen. When I reported this issue, a new unit was sent out immediately to replace it. Setup is easy with the quick start guide and the starter pack comes with everything I needed to start testing my cat's blood glucose at home. The different sizes of lancets were very helpful in figuring out which were most appropriate for testing my cat. The icons on the device screen are clear and helpful in recording the data for each test and the two minute time out is a great feature because it gives me enough time to do the test even when my cat is less than cooperative. I'm glad I chose the EverLaw monitor for my cats needs.

Perfect, easy to use, easy to handle. Had to handle my cat and test at same time.

Came fast but hard to use. Buy the better one.

Having a diabetic dog is hard but being able to monitor her levels at home makes me it a little bit easier.I brought the kit to my vet before using it on my dog to make sure it was accurate.
