Good Quality and price
The honey gate installed easily. There are no directions giving hole size or where the O ring seal goes, inside or out.I still had a very small leak. I used Teflon tape to seal around the threads.

Worked just fine for me, no tools required
I saw some negative reviews on these regarding leaks and no instructions with product.Ok so yup no instructions to speak of but I useda 1-3/4” hole saw and cut holes in my buckets, with enough space so the nut on the inside could turn. Cleaned up holes of all burrs to ensure a tight seal, left o ring on the outside as I think they intended and tightened inside nut by hand with gate valve facing up, once I had nut as tight as I could get, I held that in place with one hand and rotated gate valve on the outside to the correct position ( handle to the right) this effectively tightened everything down. Filled buckets up with water and left overnight to check for leaks. No leaks and water doesn’t leak, can’t see how honey could. I feel if you over tightened it the O ring would probably distort and leak.

Pretty good valve, easy to install
Overall, I’m quite satisfied with these honey gate valves. Installation was straightforward—I easily attached them to two buckets I purchased from Walmart using a drill bit from Lowe’s. Even with the added cost of the valves and the bit it was still much cheaper than buying pre-installed buckets. My only concern is a slight drip on one of the valves. I double-checked the washer placement and everything seems correct, but there’s just a tiny drip. It’s not a major issue, and certainly not enough to warrant a return for the amount of usage I'll have. The second valve works perfectly with no leaks. For the price, these valves are a great value, and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a budget-friendly solution for honey harvesting!

Disappointed in the leakage (review update)
I bought two of these valves to process a little honey from our hives. After about an hour I saw some honey seeping from the valve so I put the pail in a pan to catch anymore. The picture is after about five hours of the honey sitting in the bucket. If I tried to tighten it anymore I'm sure I would have stripped the threads. The other valve is holding just fine after four hours. Both were installed exactly the same in brand new food grade buckets.Update: A day after I left the above review I received a note from the seller of these honey gates. They were very concerned that I was having a problem with one leaking unit. They are sending me a new set to correct the problem.. That is how customer service is supposed to work. Thank you BeeCastle

Marketed really poor for such good quality
This product is one of the better honey valves out there but they just don’t know what they are truly selling. The gasket is much larger than normal so you get a great seal to the bucket. The threads are wider so it won’t strip. The locking screw has a washer so it allows for a tighter on / off. If the washer was part of the wing nut it would be even better. Anyway if you are looking for a good one this is the one.

Honey dispensers
It worked great. We put it on a 5 gallon to dispense the honey to fill our containers that we had to buy a and larger gasket for it.

Honeygate leaks!!!
The media could not be loaded. I would 100% not buy this product again. You will.need a 1.75 inch hole saw in 5 gallon bucket. The hole is perfect no leaks. But the product is poop. 2 came in a pack and both leaked from the gate itself no matter how tight you turn the wing nut. Not just a little but alot. If you want wasted product or a huge mess then this is it. Don't waste your time or money.

Leaks at the gate. Gasket is too small
Easy to install onto the 5 gallon food grade bucket. It doesn't leak at the connection but does leak a the gate, even when closed and tighten down with the attached wing screw. I think it just needs a thicker rubber gasket.
