Fantastic
This was a great buy. I see this lamp base lasting for a long time. It is very solid and heavy, like a rock. The grapes look really nice and it has a pretty long wick that burns very nicely. The flame is a little high, as high as 5 inches, but it usually dies down to about 2 inches. The only thing about it I had to adjust was wrapping the "cork" part with some electrical tape to make it fit more snugly. If it was knocked over, the top would just fall out. After I taped around the "cork" part though, it is super tight and I am confident if it fell over, just some oil would dribble out of the wick and give me plenty of time to pick it back up.I added red aquarium gravel, glitter, and rose petals to the inside of my bottle. This was an anniversary gift to my girl. I used a bottle we bought from the Biltmore the weekend I proposed there. She loved it. We made this one together, and another electric lamp too. I do not recommend glitter for the oil lamp. It turned the oil pinkish and made the wick look really odd.The electric one:We put a string of 25 LED lights (cut a 50 light string in half, it works fine) in a bottle with aquarium gravel to add weight, cut a hole in the bottom for the power cord (takes forever to drill, quicker with a ceramic tile bit), put a socket on the top to control the LED light bulb, and it turned out great. She LOVES both. The light string stays on, and the bulb is turned on and off by the socket's switch.

Frustrating
I want to give a good review on this, because it's pretty and a cute idea. HOWEVER, it has some problems that really make it impractical to use more than once.First of all, unless the hole in your bottle is very small, you will not have a tight fit, and the little pine cone will not even rest straight on the mouth of the bottle.Secondly, you have to make all wick adjustments by hand. That means--you can only adjust it when the pine cone is cool (it holds heat for a long time)--you must grasp hold of a wick that is saturated in lamp oilAggravatingly, after I trimmed the wick and ever-so-gently tried to pull it down so it was flush with the top of the pine cone, the whole wick pulled free. Then I had the frustrating job of trying to rethread the wick through the pine cone (twist as you push).Being even MORE careful the second time, the same thing happened! Why bother? Because the top of the wick must be flush with the top of the pine cone or you will have a big, smoky flame. Trimming it with scissors, even as close as you possibly can, will leave the wick too high. Attempting to lower it almost invariably results in the whole wick coming free.If it wasn't so darn cute, I'd give it a one star rating. Maybe you can figure out a way to get it to work, or just live with its faults.

Good Product and priced well
These are very solid, and should be since they are touted as solid brass, which they are. the Bottle I used was just barly small enough to hold the brass fitting, so it's flush with the bottle lip. Not really a problem unless you need to add more oil. However that is not a design flaw, I only mention it so you can be sure to test fit before you pick your bottle. They arrived quickly with standard shipping and had no damage. I would recommend these to anyone who want's something a little sturdier than ceramic.

Very happy. one minus.
This thing works great. I do recommend inverting the wick in fuel for amount an hour to get it good and saturated before lighting (pull the wick all the way up, invert in bottle of fuel, then pull the wick back down, leaving about 1/8 inch above the cone). Looks good. works good. The review would have been 5 stars if the wick would reach more that 1/2 way down the bottle. I can not come up with an explanation for why a product designer would not make the wick to be wine-bottle length since you know that is what people will use it for.

nice product, but a little expensive.
I filled a Kraken rum bottle with lantern oil, bought some Wilton oil-based food coloring off Amazon to make the oil look a rustic greenish brown, and added this wick to the top to create a unique lamp. I only deduct a star because it seemed fairly expensive when I bought it, but I'm still happy that it's available for such a project.

4.5 (Really...) Mostly kick@ss...
I love it because it's cheaper than the ones you buy in the wineries. And it's a good quality.I like it because it provides a pretty sweet glow and re-use for one of my favorite wine bottles. Now I can keep those bottles that have sentimental value and "ignite some memories" from time to time. For instance, dinner by candlelight provided by some wine I enjoyed on my honeymoon.I'm not as fond of it because the fitting is loose and this thing is one waggy tail away from falling over and spilling oil everywhere. But in some ways, I guess that's just how it goes with oil lamps in general.

The perfect bottle topper.
You take those decorative brandy and aperitif bottles and turn them into wonderful oil lamps for that soft glow on your patio with this wonderful pine cone topper and wick. You could also use them with citronella oil! The only thing is that the smoke from the oil leaves a residue on the topper which you have to remove and wash occasionally.

Beautiful, but maybe a fire risk?
Product itself very nice and heavy; it sets on top of the bottle mouth but does not attach or fasten on. A bottle full of kerosene oil with a beautiful flame on top ended up being too much of a fire concern for me to use this as gifts, which is what I intended. I have a little difficulty keeping the wick just right so the flame is not too high. Looks beautiful indeed, but I'm very careful where I use it so that there is low risk for tipping it over.

Works great but be careful
Works great but you have to be very careful the wick does not burn down too low otherwise it is very difficult to thread back through the brass stopper.I had two that burned too low, had to tie fishing line to the wick and then push and pull through.

Nice idea in theory but not a great design in practice
It was near impossible to thread the wick through the pine one. Then when the wick started to burn down it was impossible to move it up.
