A great piece of kit and amazing value for money
I bought this to control the zoom for my Canon Legria HF G26 as the zoom controls on the camera are awkward to use when mounted on a tripod. It clamps to the tripod handle with a screw fit and there is a cable which you plug one end into the unit and the other end into the camera remote socket. Initially I was disappointed it didn’t work and was removIng it to pack back up and return when I noticed a small switch on the side. I flicked the switch and tried again and it worked. It turned out the switch is used to enable the controller for different camera makes. The third picture for the item does show the switch and says one way for Sony and the other for Panasonic. For Canon cameras use the Sony setting. The variable zoom control is far better than the rocker on the camera and gives a much steadier zoom speed. If you are having problems with this before sending it back check that switch!

Fantastic little controller.
To quote the advert, it does exactly what it says on the tin! A great little Lanc controller. Sits nicely on the tripod pan bar and works seamlessly. A very smooth zoom wheel which gives excellent control over the speed of the zoom. Makes covering events etc a breeze. The record button is ideally situated again making life so much easier. For the price I don't think you can beat it. I've used a number of different types of these from this cheaper model all the way to the expensive pro versions which are incorporated into the pan bar itself. This matches nicely. A good little unit.

Great quality for the price!
Simple to attach and use, very effective zoom control with the thumb rocker. Great addition to any fixed DV camera.

It works!
Just to say, if anyone is wondering - this works with the Panasonic HC-X20 camera, operates the zoom on the handle, not the one on the top of the camera, and switches on/off recording. Great if you have shaky hands.

Didn’t work on Canon XA40 camcorder. Going back.
Didn’t work on my Canon XA40 camcorder. Should be able to plug and go. Sending it back. Btw, comes in small box, no instructions, no nothing. Not fit for purpose.

Works great with Sony Z90
Solid feeling product with a smooth zoom. It doesn't do a 'crash zoom' but it's perfect speed for me.
