RainStoppers 46" Arc, Auto/Auto Black Super Mini Umbrella

I bought this umbrella for its price and features.For an auto open/close umbrella that is under twenty dollars is a pretty good deal to me. Like everyone else, I like its size (perfectly fits in my northface rain-jacket's pocket) and its ergonomic handle. I also like that it is not bulky nor heavy.Why am I giving it 2 stars?I've used the umbrella a handful of times. The majority of the time I've had an issue with this umbrella. The first time I used it was during a 5 min walk from my home to the train. It worked great. However, once I got to my destination, the umbrella did not open properly. I was having this issue [...] During my 10 minute walk to work, under heavy rain, I had to hold the umbrella from the runner in order for it to remain open. Believe me, I was not happy.After a while I figured out that this umbrella has to be closed in a particular way (grab the entire canopy while in the closed position and bring it together with the handle for it to lock in place) otherwise it will have problems opening and closing correctly.In another event, on my way to work, again, this time the umbrella was working just fine until I started feeling drops falling on me. I couldn't understand where they were falling from since I had the umbrella open to shield me from the rain. I then the material used for the canopy seems to absorb some of the rain.Why haven't I returned it?It does what an umbrella is suppose to do, for the most part. I have resolved the open/close issue (or so I hope). It now serves as my back up.

This is the perfect size for 1 person, and has worked well during several heavy rainfalls. Didn't notice in the picture, but it has some fake wood laminate on the handle, which actually looks really nice, and has a grip design that has grooves for fingers. That's a great feature except that the handle is crazy tiny. I have slightly larger than average hands for a man and can only hold it with 3-4 fingers. If it hadn't been for that, I would have easily given it a 5.

Bought this umbrella to replace one I'd left in a car I'd traded in. Had no reason to use it for the first three months I owned it until today when it was raining heavily as I came to work. When I pushed the button to open the umbrella, it failed to open and if I attempted to manually raise the umbrella to use it, it failed to stay open. The umbrella is entirely useless to me and since I've gone past the return date I've no way of seeking restitution.

I only buy auto open/close umbrellas. This one is nice because it can fit in my tote bag or under the seat of my car easily. I really like the handle. It has a nice, ergonomic shape and has a nice weight.

these umbrellas are great!!! the push button to open and to close really makes it effortless to use....highly recommend this for anyone living in Florida!!! when closing it just closes the canopy part and you still have to push it down which can take a bit of muscle if you not use to them... and just re-wrap the Velcro thing around it to secure it.

My friend brought this umbrella and recommended it to me. The open mechanism works fine, but when you go to close it, it takes a lot of force to work (if at all). The second time I opened it, it wouldn't close in place no matter what I did. It's a really nice umbrella but the mechanism is problematic.

My only complaint is becareful when opening. You really gotta have a grip on the handle otherwise when you press the release button to open it, it's so strong, it literally shoots out of your hand and socks you in the stomach or wherever else the handle is pointed.

Better than your average umbrella. Big enough to cover, but small enough to carry easily. Fair product for the price.
